My S2 has had it's 21st Birthday.

Happened to look at my V5 this morning as I was sorting through the documents I have for my various automotive contraptions. My S2 was first registered way back in time on the 17th of December 1990. Which made me reflect back. At that time I was in the Fourth year at high school, a little tubby, had just starting wearing specs (grudgingly) and was into heavy metal, classic British bikes, Motocross, Rover SD1's and Cosworths. Didn't even know what an S2 was until about 1998 after I'd started driving round in my first MK2 GTi. As soon as I found out I wanted one.

Anyone else got an S2 registered pre January 1991? There must be a few of us.

Also what were people doing/driving 21 years ago?

don't know about S2s but my CQ is hoping to be 22 in March

My CQ will be 22 next month, i would have been nearly 7. Cruising around in my Kettler Kettcar! My dad would have just recieved his brand new company car, a Burgundy Mk2 Cavalier 1.8 GL.

my s2 was first registered 21 01 1991 so quite an early car too,
i was 6 and footy and fishing mad, some things never change

I was running a Suzuki GS 1000 and being a full-on biker, I didn't have much to do with cars 'til I was 30! Then it was Capris,and XR4x4s 'til..eventually..I saw the light! (cue for a song..) Nice how threads diversify.
