I had to do something similar to the rear of my urs4 recently. My body work had no holes, some surface rust in places, but my fuel tank did have hole. Replaced it with another tank, and painted everything before it went together.

      Old tank

The car drives so much better with your suspension and all bushings changed. Keep up the good work.

Here is how the underbody looked after three coats of POR15 silver. I did not paint all the underbody for two reasons.
        1. The stock coat is really tick and is still in good shape nearly everywhere
        2. I was not equiped for that work and I was actually happy to succeed at doing that with 35cm of space under the car. Thanks to my sister's bf for the painting!

The beautiful shiny fuel tank ready to go back in. You can see the homemade fuel pump basket removal tool I made (The idea came from another thread, special thanks to URS4boy and Merlin's S4)

The tank and lots of bolts and nuts...

In background you can see the subframe powdercoated with apikol bushing, but more on that part later

And here is the brake bomb I recieved from Quattro-Zentral. There are three things to mention about it
        • I like the valve welded on it which will allow me to easily and refill it in the future
        • As you will see in the next pictures, the valve is welded at a place that makes it impossible to fit on the stock bracket without modification. So I was a bit upset about that for the price I paid.
        • The bomb surface was obviously still greasy and not cleaned before painting. So the paint just goes away with finger nails or a compressor.

I have send an email to Quattro-Zentral about that so if you want to order from them make sure they changed those things!

Other than that, I don't have the (!) sign anymore when I start the car and the brake pedal feels much better than with the old bomb.

I ll post the rest of the pictures about the rear diff and subframe later

            Hi all,

After replacing the bomb, the high pressure pipe going from the steering pump to the rack started leaking with the engine on.

Could it be a coincidence? or just the fact that the pressure in the system could be higher due to the new bomb? I have a spare pipe but I d like to have some advice.

            Thanks.
