    Took the old girl out into the long awaited spring sunshine for a little run and took a few photos...

          Blass, thank you folk, its more 'honest' than mint, but mechanically its had a kings ransom spent on it...

          Fire away, there's not a lot to tell really, other than JP rebuilt the engine in a 'happy, but standard'ish' kind of way.

            Nice piccies Ian,have you ever thought of taking up"glamour" photography by any chance?
            Something draped over your quattro bonnet in the spring sunshine,think you will be quite good at it

                  It’s been a long time here since I posted anything Ur Quattro... Bless , the old girl has been mechanically spot on since 2013 but physically has always (even when we bought it in 1995) has wanted bodywork. February 2018’s MOT identified the corrosion in the drivers sill was finally an issue.

                  So...

                  February 18 the tear down started.



                  Every part was itemised and cleaned/repaired or replaced.

                    The new parts kept arriving.


                    As we pulled stuff out of storage from the Early 2000’s

                      The car was finally stripped and off to the restoration body shop.


                      Whilst the parts polishing production line continued.
                      (Smoked one is Ur).

                        And less than good bits.


                        Until eventually the car was more like an archeological dig.

                          To add to the excitement the rally Quattro hated the hot summer.
                          This is off to rehab after a drink problem.


                          Whilst, bless, we borrowed a mates RR for our eldest daughters prom in the absence of ours. (Thank you Chris).

                            By the end of July the old girl was in blind coat.


                            And then first top coat.

                              Whilst this was all going on, the S2 decided it needed attention and had a new hopped kkk24k



                              Mean while the rally Quattro enjoyed a late summer run of reliability I shall forever be thankful for.



                              The Ur finally arrived back from the restoration body shop in mid September
