That's about 23 Avg MPG roughly based on a 16.5 Gallons worth of fuel running a "Mihnea Chipset" which I guess is pretty good if you regulary use a dose of full throttle on the 3 lane black top!

The saloon bodyshell must be a lot lighter in overall weight and the 6 Speed will always be better on......dare I say.......economy

I think I will need a towbar hooked up to a tanker full of Optimax if I decide to turn up the power on the Auto Slipper Wagon! It already has a habit of not being able to pass a petrol station without stopping for fuel.

Good job I have the 1.9Tdi as the everyday hack

    Cheers

I try never to take the gauge into the empty section if I can help it so my 300 miles is not really a full tank, plus the avant weighs around 1750-1800kg. Most of my driving is also fairly short trips, 10 miles to work on ***** B-roads so not really getting up to full temp either. Driving style is usually 40-45 mph waiting for a suitable chance to overtake then WOT in 3rd and 4th for some fun past the queue of slow cars, then cruise again at 60-70 mph until I hit the back of another queue of slow cars. Groundhog day, you bet.

Me too, never let the needle went in the red area!

Now, myy car "drink" more fuel because he just do 0.6 bar (1,6bar on the dash), more boost make the engine cut... and when that happen, fuel vanish!
But i dont have errors on the ECU.... weird!

It's actually more like 28 mpg.. I get 380 miles on 60 litres..
I've just checked my calculations and it comes out at 23 miles per US gallon = 28 miles per imperial gallon.

Obviously I prefer imperial gallons as they are bigger and I drink tea, not coffee.

Sorry fella, I thought you were getting 380 miles from 75 litres (16.5 Imperial Gallons) which is what I thought the approximate "empty to full" Fuel Tank Capacity fill up was although I think you really have to be running on fumes to get that much in. I think 70 litres is about as much as I managed to get in according to the needle reading that was well in the red.

380 miles from 13.2 Imperial Gallons (60 Litres) is excellent.

Talking of American Stuff.............I used to get 24 MPG (Imperial) from my 1986 Chevy Camaro Z28 IROC 5.0 V8 Tuned Port Injection with a 4 Speed O/D Auto - Yee Hah!

Going for a cup of char now..........too many conversions and not enough caffiene..........

            Later...

              28 mpg

In my dreams. I don't think all my short trips help with my fuel consumption but even on a very steady run 60-80 mph on A roads it never gets above 25mpg. What weight is the saloon, is there that much of a weight difference? I wouldn't have thought so. But I didn't buy it to go slow so I really can't complain.

              Cheers,

              Graeme.

I just installed an RS2 exhaust manifold and noticed that the stock manifold had a crack which I had never noticed before.. Maybe it's a common fault.
