Having done two urS6 front end suspensions now, if I was advising you,
I'd replace the top mount, the white plastic ring bearing, and the lower 'wishbone' that connects to the ARB, and has a ball joint in it. Also order the nut and bolt that holds the balljoint in position, from the dealer, as per Dave boy's posts.
The front suspensions is hard physical work, and you won't want to have to deleve into it again a second time. Between less weight and different design, they make B4 front suspension look like a Golf Mk 1, in my mind.
If the car is a keeper, also consider the front shocks, and springs. Either a compete new kit or just fresh Sachs or similar shocks.
Once completed, it will ride the potholes pretty well then, better than a B4.
Good to see urS6's being saved.

. There were a few options on the go, one was to keep the money from the S2 until next summer when I could sell my kit car and put the money together to buy a really nice sorted S2 avant. I bought this car originally to keep me going over the winter but it's growing on me more and more.
