the bearing size is an engine power related thing

            all audi b3 b4 under 150hp = 75mm

            all audi b3 b4 over 150hp = 82mm bearing

front and rears are the same, quattro or FWD it doesent matter...

you must tell to dealer the exact part no of the bearing and for all part you will buy for the care, otherwise you will be desapoined.

                    i can confirm the number
                    893 498 625 E for the front
                    4D0 407 625 E for rear.
Just keep in mind "82mm all around", then you get the right pieces..

Get yourself signed up to that site to help avoid this kind of thing happening As someone said, the only way to guarantee getting the right part is to give them the part number

I always look at vagcat (etka) before I order OEM parts, and give them the partnumber otherwise you can be sure its wrong

The aftermarket suppliers do not have the database always right. And it is hard to do that considering they sell parts for all brands. This is the case when you buy online. When someone finds the part it is his job to search for oe code and aftermarket similar products.

What was worrying in this case is i ordered these bearing over the phone at an Audi main dealership here in UK.

Thanks to everyone for your help it's much appreciated.Once correct bearing received i can carry on with 5 stud conversion which i am looking forward to completing but first subbframes out, bushes in everywhere,Gen Blue RS2 top mounts for that brand new ride and all on my back or backside. I do envy those who have a nice big garage to work in with a lift. Can't have it all i suppose.
