The front end of the car is back together and my mate is using it tonight to ferry 6 people around.
In the evenings this week i've rubbed down the rust on the fuel tank and tonight i painted it
Ive got the coming week off so will be stripping the rear end suspension (weather permitting) fitting the fuel tank, get rid of the rust on the back of the car and under seal.Comment

I have removed lots of rust and mud from the car but also added a 1 liter can of seam sealer and over a can of under seal to it
Fuel tank, subframe, diff are all refitted now. My new rear track control arms turned up today (febi) so im not waiting for anymore parts.
I need to paint a few more brackets, the rear springs and shocks then i can get it all rebuilt and take it to be tracked.Comment

You have been busy.
Did you expect that sort of corrosion before you got under there? Great job on sorting it out Shaun although doing it in near sub zero temperatures must have been interesting with the seam sealer and underseal going of??! How did you get on with those Audi rear bushes you mentioned, was it an easy job to pull out and push back in?
Coming along very nicely Shaun.Nice one.

Probably works better than the real thing. Took me literally hours to get the real tool to work.

Good work there Shaun. I am so happy that you didn't snap off the rear strut mount studs. Did you loosen them with an anti-rust liquid first?
Before (looks quite rusty at the nuts/studs:
After (luck or skill?) studs are still there, not snapped off

I did know it was quite rusty underneath, non of it is bad, only surface rust. I was surprised how long it took me to rub it down, i did it in stages, would say to do the whole under side took me 5 days at 8 hours a day so 40 hours.You have been busy.

The seam sealer went off ok (it was just above freezing but the wind was cold
)
The under seal is still drying.
The old bushes i pushed out with my fingers, the new ones i pulled in with a long bolt and washers.Comment
