    Welcome!

That's a pretty tight budget, as it doesn't allow for unforeseen circumstances. It's doable, but just hope you don't run into anything unexpected while you're in there...

0.63 a/r is pretty small and you'll run into detonation in the upper rev band. Come to think of it, I believe a cast 3076 is gonna be maxed out around 400whp.

What kind of fuel? 91? 93? e85? w/m? What FPR?

Are you installing fresh main/crank bearings?

Have you considered suspension and braking upgrades?

      W/M? and

so far ive been able to get
      680cc injectors -$270
      FMic-$220
      044-$180
      and head studs for $140
all under what i intended on spending
and yes i plan on replacing rod bearings
      crank bearings head gasket
piston rings and some other parts too
all are in the $4-5k plan
as for brakes either hp2 calipers or 944 4 pots performance rotors and performance pads
for the suspension i plan on h&r springs since i already have bilstiens in.
fuel goin to be used is 93 octane fpr @ 3 or 3.5 bar
and if the gt3076 max at 400whp that's a number id be happy with
      Thanks for your input!

          nice project
i also use vems and a gt3076r on a AAN engine with 0.82 A/R (full boost on 4000 rpm)
0.63 gives you a faster spool(about 200 rpm) but less power on top
i have a brand new garret housing 0.63 for sale if you need one
          audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)
          TWINCHARGED power,zero lag
          AEM W/M injection

Open up the block and get it measured and you will see if you need new pistons or not.. My engine had 153k on the clocks..

It does not cost a fortune and I doubt that you have the right tools to measure it. Get it to the mashineshop as you will be needing a chemical wash measurements taken of the crank and of the cylinder bores. If the cylinders turn oval you will need to rebore it. If your lucky only new rings and a honing.

Well most of the heads have cracks so you will be lucky to find that you don't need another head. My engine needs some love but the head was OK.

Ive read about these heads cracking around the plug holes and some re-use the heads if the cracks are not big ill have to see what im dealing with when open it up
