Just been chatting on the phone to my spanner man I felt a bit embarrassed quizzing his bearing pressing knowledge but he assured me it was pressed in as mentioned above with great care not to stress or damage in the process, anyhoo we will see what happens with the next one I'll update soon as

Can't believe my luck £4.95 plus VAT TPS In stock collect in the morning what the chances of that, a good end to a nightmare week. Now to recover the cost of 2 bearings and labour that this oversight has caused

Ahh more RS2 oddness. Glad you found the issue, nothing is more frustrating than doing the same job over and over.

Indeed, I had the Coupe 10 years before I realised it had RS2 hubs

As far as I can tell the spacer is an undocumented part as far as Audi is concerned. I have never seen any reference to it anywhere.

I doubted that it would be bearings from the start bro but with the left one running fine all we could do was change it to find out the hard way Many thanks for your help in the past bud

It is not in the parts database. I'm not sure if it has a Porsche part number.
You may need to get one made.

I reckon its 8A0 407 661 Fitted washer. It says to use with hub 8A0 407 613. Then there appears to be a diferent hub which is 8A0 407 613A without that washer.
Might be worth an hour or two rummaging around the workshop. Perhaps they have a bin where all the discarded parts get thrown in. At least you know what it looks like now.
