Wow. Just read about the Xr3i... totally amazed at how much work into that and a total credit to you. I cant believe that you sold it after all that. I am always shocked when i hear these stories about people restoring and then selling the car after so much work. So go on then, what did you get for it in the end??? lolComment

Very nice indeedy
Just flicked thru a few photos of your XR3i blimey... Now that is a full restore.. Hats off to you on that one.
Flicking through the thread I'm thinking he's bound to know my mate Wenny.. Then I spy his name. I take it you'll know Ginge then with the Monte that's been undergoing a restore?

6k . Tbh only did it as it was a one owner fsh car and was garaged for years . Bought it off a chap from bedford who had listed on ebay. They don't fetch big money as the rs big brothers are where the interest and money is ... But was wet though carpets as was full of filler in the floor.. Only reason I went to town on it as got the gen ford panels from a chap thru passion ford wouldn't have done it otherwise.
Worst bits ? After sourcing a gen ford mk3 windscreen stored at a ford dealers buying for a steal and cracking it when fitting. Could have cried !!
and with the escos , rebuilding engine , fitting and firing her up for the first time walking round the front to look at it and the cam tensioner pulley come loose out of the head
All good fun !Last edited by Gazmitchell; 15 October 2015, 13:16.Comment

Nor do I to be fair but sort of got into it as I went along. I remember them being for sale in dealers when new and looked great back in the day when most cars were just metal square boxes ..Comment
