        How gutting.

Doesn't look like the headlining has been submerged, it won't be enjoying the condensation very much but should be okay if you can start the airing out process ASAP.

Looks like you've managed to extract the car from your lock up

If you cant get it inside somewhere very soon I'd consider getting a little 12V dehumidifier to leave going inside the car 24/7, would just need a battery and emptying every other day or so.

The engine bay doesn't look too bad, at least the water wasn't full of turds and tampons.

Please do something to start getting that moisture out of there. Open the hatch or a door and get some dry air in there ASAP.

Sorry to hear about your cars,
I cant see the pictures as they are blocked on the rig.
You could hire a rug doctor carpet cleaner from B & Q or somewhere local, would really help to suck the water out and clean at the same time.
Dehumidifier is the way ahead though
I used one before on a coupe, filled a gallon bucket in a day.
Will suck all the moisture out of the electrics, dash and insulation.
Just got to watch the leather.

            cheers

            Steve

The doors are wide open and also the bonnet, the lining was soaked and bonnet wold not stay open initially but after 10 minutes enough water drained out of the lining to let it stay up, should be dry-ish by now thats been overnight.

You will see them soon enough when you get home Steve, which dehumidifier did you use then? we have a couple in the flat that has a block inside and seems quite effective. Got a lot of water out using a syphon pump, and we have no power in the new lock-up so need to borrow a genny as we have a cracking Vax machine which works very well indeed, but needs power of course.

It was an old machine probably like the ones on eBay for 100quid but like you say without power your limited.
Vax would work good used one of them on my mates RS6.
It had burst its rear wiper hose that runs under the carpet and was pumping fluid into the cabin, not really a comparison to what your dealing with.
It's a good idea to jack the car up at the front to let water run to the rear foot wells then Hoover out with the vax

After a short holiday this is not the kind of thing one likes to read when taking a look on the forum again.

Really gutted for you, hope you have been able to sleep okay-ish, I know I wouldn't be able to.
Best of luck and with the help from this forum the car should be back on the road for sure.

Really sorry to hear about this. We used to keep a caravan in outdoor storage over winter and we would go every few weeks to try to air is and so on. We ended up running a dehumidifier using a petrol genny to run it and it worked very well, just never really there long enough to keep it completely dry. You ended hanging about outside in the freezing cold waiting for the dehumidifier to do it's work, sadly not enough power for a heater too. Don't rule out the rice thing either, heard a few stories of it working very well. Caravanners use dishes of salt too, they just suck up the water and caravan shops sell bags which will do the same, same stuff that's in electrical goods when you open the packaging, forget right now what it's called but it also works. Think you are doing the right thing keeping it and fixing yourself, all the best with it, will watch in here with interest

                            @Rubberdubber, it's called silica gel.

in this case a lot of, actually huge amount of silica gel will be needed, electrical dehumidifier would be way better, a while ago I was looking into them 'deep' enough and
ended up buying Meaco DD8L http://www.meaco.com/proddetail.php?prod=DD8L - highly recommended !
