I saw this and thought of you. All the best with it.

There's a thread on here somewhere regarding that car in Holland, the work that had to be put in to rescue it is incredible!
Hat's off to the guy that saved it, though it's a totally different kettle of fish to Mikes car. Having been fully submerged for weeks, partially in heavy silt is going to make for a lot more work than a brief dunk to glass level in relatively clean water. The Dutch car had also sustained serious panel damage to the the near side rear, whereas Mikes car is just dirty and of course wet.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

My thoughts exactly. If that guy can do it, this should be much easier. I thought it might help with motivation.Having been fully submerged for weeks, partially in heavy silt is going to make for a lot more work than a brief dunk to glass level in relatively clean water. Mine was is a little more substantial than the one Kit linked too. It was just over £100 years back - A similar model by same brand is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8l-day-Amc...MAAOSwLN5Wi~o7
Perfect for inside of cars
Hope you get it dried out soon - The turbo drier some one has offered - Its does really need a de-humidifier as if a dryer (fan) of some kind the humidity wont be sucked out of the internal of the car at this time of year. Key with small dehumidiifer is you can seal up the car, ie no external moisture around
On my lunch break so go to be quick. You don't need a large dehumidifier, both Tristan and I use them to dry out our vehicles when wet inside, in my case a Coupe
and in his case a Landy he takes through rivers etc.
It's only really the inside of the car that needs rapidly drying, the outside is designed to get wet after all. I set one up inside the car, close all the windows/doors and well as all heater vents then carefully close one door with the plug end of the cable outside of the car.
I have something semi industrial which I picked up second hand, while Trist uses something along these lines and empty's it frequently.
That was just the quickest example I could find, I'm not say get that particular model but you don't need to spend a large amount of money on one.Comment

This was the way I'd parked them John, only the Q7 had a slight scratch on the left side where a broom handle or something fell between them, other than that not a mark luckily...1998 A6 Q (Suzie)

I'd seen that thread too, and cannot find it just yet, but will. Yes I remember seeing my car and rmembering how that one was fully submerged too and more than just panel work, if I'm right I recall that chap worked for Porsche, happy days! If anyone finds it before me see if we can get us both in touch!?!There's a thread on here somewhere regarding that car in Holland, the work that had to be put in to rescue it is incredible!
