Andy, I think the trouble is the price. I know that i would rather buy a car that i knew had been looked after by an enthusiast and forum member. However if you see S2's like last week on ebay that have 51,000 miles, and sell for just under £5K, and then see yours, well, its an easy choice for most people.
I think you will sell it, but not at that price at this moment. This may of course change as the prices seem to go up and down.

Andy - when I've sold a car privately, I've always found it a major selling point to build a dedicated website..... something free from geocities.

I then advertise on Autotrader with a link to the site......
It's certainly had good results for me - and always got me good buyers.....

The price is correct as a mint ABY with a few less miles is £8-£9k. Mine is decent and I'm asking similar money to many other cars on Autotrader and it's fully sorted and I know it and can prove it, so I'm not budging. I think if I was asking way more than it's worth then people who have seen the car would correct me. Ultimately, it cost me around £8k last year and I'm asking £6k.

Hi Andy i think you have got the price spot on for your car but for some reason these cars do not seam to be selling well. I have got someone coming round with cash tomorrow night to look at my car but for a car that has had £25,000.00 spent on it over the last 4 years the £6,000.00 that it will sell for is shocking!!

Unless you NEED to sell it, don't. Or wait until someone comes along that knows what they are looking at. By the time they have looked at all the crap ABY's for 5.5k they will see yours and buy it. Unfortunately i think it will be a waiting game trying to sell it.....

Far too tempting. It was asked 10 minutes after I listed. With the way I'm feeling at the moment I was just going to cancel the auction but I have just curbed my anger by going to watch the new Wallace and Gromet film. Laughed it all off....

Many more idiots like that though and the S2 will be staying in the Wescounry with me, where it belongs!!
