Only reservation I would have is that eBay is perhaps not the best place to advertise such a car... I certainly wouldn't use eBay motors as the main way to track down a decent car. Are you getting many people to view it and test drive ?

Has it been in the local Autotrader yet ? Alistair's website suggestion is a good one as you can do much more than what eBay lets you do.

      Andy,

I, too, can't believe your car isn't selling. Your honesty and level of detail in the eBay advert should tickle someone's fancy I'm sure. However, I would definitely agree with the others that a website to link to from e.g Autotrader or Pistonheads would be the way forwards. Maybe even advertise on Quattro owners club?

I found 2 RS2s I would have never found otherwise just by googling "RS2" + "for sale" in UK.

best of luck - i see BRY is lending a hand

I think that the reserve would prevent that!

Reserve is currently £5.7k but could be lowered to £5.5k with the way things are going so don't go too mad. Thanks though.

I have advertised on Autotrader and had no interest whatsoever. Not helped by the fact that my coupe started off as the cheapest ABY and 2 weeks later was the second most expensive private one. IMHO, yhere just aren't the buyers at the moment.

I will set up a website in the near future but having never done it before it may take some time and arsing about.

Ebay is just a global market place and gets a lot of hits. I really only use it as a cheap wasy of getting advertising space and wouldn't expect it to sell on there.

I have had no phone calls, serious emails, viewings or test drives since starting this adventure back in the beginning of September.

Honesty would appear to count for sweet FA but it's trhe way I have chosen to do things and I'll stick by that decision.

I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for their support and advise. I hope that my constant moaning isn't too much of a bore as being able to vent my frustrations to a group who understand my predicament is very useful.

              The saga continues...

If anyone knows of a serious enthusiast who is after an S2 but maybe can't stretch to my price then please contact me anyway and we may be able to reach some sort of an agreement.

What, they let you drive it occasionally and buy it for a bargian price!

Seriously though, I understand your predicament. It seems mad that when you want to buy a good one you can't find one, and when you have a good one to sell you can't sell it!

                  Once again - Good luck.

If I don't sell it then I think it's time to keep it (obviously!!) and do what I orginally intended to before I moved away from home and all this house business developed. I might as well enjoy myself properly! It will still be for sale but I will not actively advertise it. Strange but true!

I would wait a while, unless your desperate to get rid, as no one is selling cars.....

                          I'm sure it will sell....

Sod it. Decided to keep the old girl and have some fun if Ebay fails (and it will). No harm in leaving it to run as it's cost me £10.

Still for sale but at my price and not px money!!

Bry, how much for a Porsche big red setup for 16" rims? Take a Golf in PX?!

                              That's the spirit.
It'll save you selling it and then buying another one when the price for good ones goes back up. Sell the Golf and free up some cash to mod the S2.

I found it funny when I bought the Golf and I find it funny now but a complete car is the same price as a brake setup!! Crazy!!
