I wouldn't fit it to my car that's for sure. Having said that, the welding looks very respectable. Just a shame that the rest of it hasn't been designed that well, the flange doesn't look too good in my books, neither does the collectorS2 Avant......fully loaded   Slipper Wagons Rule !!!!!Comment

Why? What is wrong with the collector? Because the collector doesn't look excactly like "everybody elses" collectors?Originally posted by rotoryboysurely that collector is crap?
Why wouldn't you fit it? Wouldn't the flange be OK if turbin housing was ported to match? and have you tested or seen tests of different collectors and found large differences in performance? As said to rotoryboy; what's so wrong the collector that it's "useless" ?Originally posted by Audi Parts GuruI wouldn't fit it to my car that's for sure. The only difference I can see and suggest may be a variant in the capabilities of that is the fact that the center is flat not pointed like in others. This may cause a turbulent point as gasses flow from the cylinders over that area. Possibly causing a hot spot as the gasses may be held there due to flow.

I sent an email and asked about the material. If it was 304,316 or 321. The funny thing was that he answered me in Norwegian hehe. But the manifold is made out of 304 stainless steel. I think the "important" issue with a collector especially on a turbo-engine is that the collector-pipes are pointing straight into the exhaust housing. I am no expert in this field but i guess that is to avoid turbulence in the collector area. I dont think the manifold looks bad at all............the welds look really fine!!!2003 VW Passat Highline 130 TDI wagon with ALL options.Comment

i know a couple of people who have bought these, nout wrong with em why pay £450 for an RS2 one that will crack ok its not an f1 manifold but are you really going to notice the differance?
i dont think so..... look at it this way its better than oem cast one
think its easy to get carried away with the whole perfection thing sometimes

I've got one of these manifolds and will be trying it out on the rally car if I can ever sort the plumbing out. New downpipe and oil pipe having to be made to get it all to fit right. I'll report back when its all together.

I know someone who is building an engine with one so we'll see how it goes. He knows a thing or two about these things and says it's a good piece of kit for the cash.
As stated above it's better than the RS2 manifold, but you can't keep the standard "look" under the bonnet.Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.

i couldn't agree more, i've been running mine for about a month now...
it definitely flows better than the OE S2 manifold
