Would you rather buy a car with a brand new gearbox/clutch/flywheel and nearly new engine or a car with an old engine and gearbox

I'd rather have one that didn't need a new gearbox / engine every few years.
      That's why I got my S2.

        Exactly!

With no reason mentioned for replacing all the bits, I'd be thinking that it'd been thrashed until it died. So I'd walk away and look elsewhere.

I dont see it the way you do.

I would rather buy a car that had had stuff done than might need it in the future

Anyway engine snapped a conrod as water pump seized and kicked out all the water in one go

Gearbox was noisey as opposed to not working and as I was changing the clutch/fly and was offered a really good deal from a main dealer I took the opportunity to kill 2 birds ect

Awesome tool. I had one around 3 years ago must be the quickest point to point car around. It deffo lacks the refinement of the Audi but that is not what it was built for.

Ace car for loads of fun and it's stupid how fast they are.

              good luck with the sale

                Thanks PaulM
                What spec was your car??

                Were you an MLR member?

Your right about the performance, unless you spend mega money there isnt anything that comes close

                  360 bhp ( 279bhp@ the wheels ) 321lbs on Star performance rollers.

PE ecu, superdrager, de-cat, mushroom filter and 1.7bar boost dropping to 1.5@6500rpm using Dawes. mental power for less than a grand. I bought all the bits second hand.

I still go on the lancer forum, same name on there PaulM. Leadfoot bought my evo I think he has got a wee bit more power but the turbo is pretty much flat out as it is.

My S4 is running 350bhp and 380lbs and the evo would eat it.

I think your selling to the wrong crowd, why dont you try a jap forum or pistonheads?

as the likely hood of getting a sale on here are remote and the chances of ridicule high.

One of the reasons I posted on here is because an Audi is a possible replacement

Nope - if you did a quick search on here for M3/EVO/Scooby/Type-R - don't think it would be all complimentary comments .. um quite the opposite..
