As per title, I've dug out the breather system I fabricated from scratch for my 3B. I took a long time over planning this and getting the all the hose lengths correct, it fits really nicely and retains positive crank case ventilation, no return to sump. It requires an AN fitting to be welded to to the front of the cam cover and I also used an AN fitting on the block vent.. .Though this was a lot of hassle and I suggest doing away with the fitting on the end of the pipe that attaches to the Darek's head and using a more simple hose end termination to attach it to the outlet.
I used semi budget AN fittings for this as it's not a totally critical system, unlike say an oil cooler set up were I spent almost twice as much on each fitting, still these weren't cheap and with the high quality oil proof braided hoses I used it certainly added up!
The catch can is a little Heath Robinson, I made it out of an old air-con tank as that's what I had to hand, it does however have internal baffles and works very well, it also retains the fire trap on the pipe that comes from the main crank case vent. It made a massive difference to the amount of oil I got in my inlet tract and also caught a huge amount of condensation, especially in the winter. It requires emptying every 2-3K miles to be one the safe side, in particular during the winter when you get a lot of condensation. The two half's slide together and I simply sealed it with tape every time I emptied it, as I said slightly boddgy, but all it cost me was time and having the fittings TIG welded on, plus it works. It secures to the front strut brace with two M6 bolts on the top.
I could understand someone wanting to use something ready made instead, however I went for function over form on my 3B project and a decent baffled can isn't cheap.
Not sure what to ask for it all, but lets say £80 posted.
I'll try and find time today to dig it out again, clean it and take some decent pic's of all the pipes and try and give you some idea of how it's all routed. There were loads of pic's on my project thread but they've all gone.
But here's a photo I took and posted on a recent thread of all the parts...
