Brand new tyre on the 5th alloy (used as spare as it fits in the well, cant do that in a coupe)
This car was previously owned by fellow forum member Phil2.016v. Just before I bought it he had the engine fully rebuilt at Midland VW, so rest assured that the engine is now bullet proof.
Now with every car there are some bad bits. I will be as honest as I can about these so you know what to expect and cant say I didn’t tell you about any.
There is a small bit of rust on the rear tailgate just under the wiper blade. I have a spare tailgate that has been sourced which will come with the sale.
There is a bit of lacquer lifting on the bottom of the drivers door. This could be sorted when the tailgate got sprayed. Needs a new passenger door lock barrel, easy job to do.
There is what I can only describe as a small clunk coming from front end only under very slow manoeuvring when on full lock. As you can see I have changed a lot of suspension components on the front end. It has got better but not gone completely. I think the only things left that it could be are either sub frame bushes or an engine/gearbox mount. Finally the CD head unit has a broken clip and occasionally under acceleration it falls off. I see it as one of those quirky little things, but the new owner may want to change the head unit. It all works though, just falls off occasionally.
During my ownership I had all the interior out and gave it a good clean, including seats, carpets & headlining. I have also recently changed the oil and filter, and flushed and replaced the coolant. Also I have recently had a detailer friend give the car a quick mop to brighten it up. The bodywork does have the usually chips etc for a car of its age but does clean up very nicely. The interior is very good and is the Quattro strip black cloth interior. I also have a reflex panel (all red rear) that will be included with the sale, as well as an original 16” avus alloy (old spare) with good tread on. Finally I have just remembered I only have one set of keys, although I will try to get another set cut before it sells.
If you need anymore information (I doubt it ha ha) just ask.
The price £4250 or make me an offer. Pm me for my number if you wish to know anything, or ask via pm.
I will try and get some better photos up asap.
