    new guy seeks s2

    hi guys,
my 1st post here, having just had my coupe quattro 20v written off by fire im teasing the upgrade to the s2,can you guys give me a rough idea of what i should expect to pay for the early vers.(3b?)?? i realise this is a very hard thing to do in reality & appreciate the vast differences in price depending on the individual car.i must stress im not after "a minter" & am not adverse to doing most repairs on my own, also high mileage, lack of genuine audi history etc of no great concern as i firmly believe a high mileage car with no history can be by far the better car than a low miler with f.a.s.h ,also are there any specific s2 faults i should know of?
excepting the front suspension in general as this seems to be the thing that wears out most on the big engined audis going by my past experience anyway.
finally does anyone know of 1 for sale ??
    cheers

    Hi sworsfish,

I'm far too drunk to give any good advice but I am in fife as well. Give me a shout and I will look over a car with you. There is an avant over in weegie land for £4500ish. What are you wanting to pay for a car?

Hey Swordfish, if you're interested I have my 91 3B up for grabs.

If you wanna see the full spec I've got it up on the FOR SALE section on here.

If you want more info just give me a shout. A lot of others on here also know the history of the car since I bought it so they too can give you a run down on the car.

Only problem might be the fact that Im all the way down in London!

i bought a "MINTER!" with 170k on clock... or... shall i say, my brother bought a minter 2 yrs ago.. he paid £9500 (aby perfect con) for it and it had full A.S.H.... however.. the month after he found whole in his fuel tank.. knowling little about fixing it he wwent to dealer who ripped £1500 from him.. 2 yrs down the line and my bro passes the car onto me (i got it 5 months ago), now im spending £400 per month on repairs (with s2sentral's help.. not going back to dealer i tel u that!)

              now.. what happened?

              a) repair price per month is fine..
              b) my bro battered it too much before seling onto me
              c) it wasnt a minter to begin with, just a cat in a bag
              d) its a minter but too many miles

im just wondering is the £400 repair bill will ever stop.. everyone keeps telling me to sel it and buy a fiesta (i got a crap job).. but .. but.. i just cannot do it.. i'll sell my parents before i have to sell the s2.

I sold my parents to fund the repairs. Also sold all my kidneys, my soul, and my *** so far.

On the list of 'to sell' is the wife - into slavery, and the child to a sweat shop in taiwan making Nike trainers.

Unfortunately my brain ended with no bids on ebay.

Yes they will, but by then you could have bought a couple of RS6s with the cash you've shelled out.
You will have a brand new S2 though. You'll have spent a couple of hundred thousand replacing every single component and then replacing them again just to be sure!

Parked up to an RS6 at a service station from dropping the parents off at Newcastle Airport. I couldn't believe the siz of the wheels and brakes, NICE!!!!, we got alot of strange looks of people as we got out of an S2 and slobbered over the RS6.

I'd best not mention my running total then. Suffice to say it's in five figures

And I haven't really started playing with it yet:eek2:
