Pretty sure I must be in the top 5, even top 3 for expenditure. Every time I see a porsche I cry wailing "That should be me!" and I don't mean a very old one either.

            Very slow.

I'm with you there. Can anyone that doesn't DIY actually justify an S2? The money would surely be better spent on a newer S4 Biturbo or somethiing similar. I personally wouldn't but I think others should consider it before bankrupcy!!!

**** me, 400 quid a month on repairs. Mines got over 140k on the clock and at least the last 40k were pretty hard (in my hands). I think I have only spent less than 1000 pound on mine in the last 2,5 years on necessary maintenance. LOL! I'm still 5 figures in though (spent 4.5 grand on brakes so far with a few hundred to go to completion). I am not sure I am so mad now after reading what you lot have been splashing out on without actually making it any quicker.

Richard Branson says that the quickest way to become a millionaire is to start off as a billionaire and then run an airline. Maybe if he bought an S2, he would swap the word 'airline' for 'S2'!

An S2 is an enthusiasts car or one for those with lots of money. This is especially true since most dealerships haven't got a clue about the I5 engine anymore, especially the S2 and RS2. If you don't DIY, pull your trousers down, lube up and wait for it every time you go to the stealers! I know many that have BTDT (not literally with the lubrication bit thankfully!!).
