I didn't think I'd ever have to do this - it's been like a good friend - if you looking for a mint condition Audi S2 Coupe then look no further!
1996 N-reg (One of the last (no. 2832/3000) of RHD 6-speed ABY made)
103k miles
ABY 6-speed manual
Ragussa Green
MOT'd until September 2009
Taxed until February 2010
Full service history, HPI clear etc.
New clutch & Cambelt service at 82k miles.
Oil and filter change (including air and cabin filter) at 103k.
Latest edition black leather interior with carbon fibre trim and standard airbag steering wheel.
AC, PAS, Electric SR/windows, remote central locking, multi-function trip computer & spare wheel with brand new tyre.
Extras:
Up rated brakes @~£1000
(Dec '06): Porsche 911 (996 model) Carrera 2 calipers (black) with VAG Parts RS2 'big red' caliper brackets, EBC red stuff pads, 314mm A8 disks & Goodridge braided hoses
(Feb '09): Tarox G88 rear disks and Ferodo DS2500 pads.
Cobra alarm/immobiliser system (Jan '96).
Remote central locking kit (Jun '06) - can you believe a £30k+ car didn't have this as standard?!
17" Audi S6 Avus II wheels, refurbished to as new condition with brand new Pirelli P-Zero tyres (Dec '08)
Roose Motorsport boost and coolant hoses (Dec '08). This car was used by Paul Roose himself to make the jig for these hoses.
Nearly £1000 of exhaust (4th Qtr. 08) - ProSpeed hand-built from the standard downpipe backwards, to very specific specifications - including the ability to replace the standard catalytic converters for road use, and not to be overly noisy without being restrictive and dull. Also have (but needs to be fitted) a downpipe from an Audi RS2. Straight swap with good results. Very sought after part...
Homefried/chipped. Estimated output now in the region of 280bhp, but I've never put it on rollers to confirm it. This was done by the great Paul of S2Central.net I believe, however this was prior to my ownership.
Alpine iPod Headunit. Around £350 worth, as it plays DVDs but doesn't have a built-in screen. Bought it because of the better iPod connection and better internals than the cheaper models.
Also included with sale:
Touch-up kit
Original Sony tape deck and 10-disk changer
Original 16" Avus wheels with nearly-new Pirelli P6000
The service history includes 11 main dealer stamps, lots of receipts and full documentation of the Porsche brake conversion.
This car is mechanically sound: the 5-cylinder engine pulls incredibly hard in any gear and the 6-speed 'box feels absolutely brand new and rock solid. Its hard to believe that the crude 10v I5 from the early 1980's turned into something so smooth in its final incarnation. The Porsche front brake conversion is a common upgrade to S2's, but these are bigger and have even better stopping power than the RS2's standard Porsche fitments.
The leather interior and panels are unmarked and the genuine Audi floor-mats are also in very good condition. Once you've seen the dark carbon fibre trim, the wood interior of other Audi 80's just looks tacky! Also, the car has black roof lining and an electric sunroof with an automatic sliding cover – I am told this combination is rare!
The usual car park nicks exist, but there are no dents in the body and very few imperfections with the paintwork. You will not be disappointed with the way it looks.
I work and live in Warwick area, please call to arrange a viewing if possible as emails may get missed.
Strictly NO CANVASSERS.
Mike
