hate to say it but those discs are not "like new" and if that set of pads has been run with them they're proably scrap too...

discs are like new in the respect that they hav had hardly any use. car was sat for around 3 months, then driven a few miles then brakes taken off, there is no lip on the discs so wood require a skim if that!! try and find a complete ready to bolt on set up for less!!!

I think he's refurring to the scoring on the disc, depending how bad it is and what its done to the pads.

Try and skim a used disc and see what happens - you need carbide tipped tools becasue the discs gets so hard with the heat cycling - its cheaper and easier to buy new discs IME. I wasn't trying to be arsey but its always best to be realistic about stuff you are selling to fellow members

                Skiming discs

Have skimmed many discs for the garage next to me, always make sure you clock up the inside face to within 0.1mm runout before skimming the outer face, these really should be ground properly to get them parallel

i think some of us are off in the wrong direction with these discs. they do not require skimming. they have stood for 3mths and then driven 8 miles prior to being removed. they are not scored, they may not be "like new" but they are certanatly not "like old" either. "hate to say it but" "im not tryin to be arsey" either. these discs are as they came off the car, just being honest. other forum members have feelings too. regards steve. ps carbon tipped tool, sounds right to me.

For what its worth, i'd do yourself a favour if you think they are in better condition than they look and get a decent close-up picture of the face(s).

Looks to me like they are knackered but its unfair to make an assumption without a decent image. If its just a case of no real pressure applied to get a clean sweep of the disc then fine but but looks like scoring or maybe part of the pad broken off (seen that before) and it causes that effect too...

Nothing strange about stating the obvious and yes that was my first post on this forum.
