    K26 Hybrid Turbo

For sale: a K26 hybrid turbo with 360 bearing, newly refurbished and never used, purchased from Grant @ AET in 2009, and i'm told it should achieve ~370bhp with low lag and quick spool-up.

I've got a refurbished RS2 turbo which i'm fitting, so this one is surplus to requirements, as i'm going for the OEM turbo setup

After £600 which is what i paid for it, open to offers

This was destined for my RS2 Rep until the RS2 Genuine came along and replaced it

Would make a cracking mid-range turbo surely, quicker than RS2 spool and mid 300s?

            Turbo

            Hi!

This charger ist a k26 hybrid turbo from SMS/MTM. They used them in their 303 bhp Setup. More than 330 bhp you vould not drive with them.

I think, that nobody bought it, cause it is to expensive.

            Whats your last price?

            Best regards

            Björn

Must resist. I take it this would be ok to bolt on to standard or RS2 manifold? What sort of torque would this give it out? Similar to the RS2?

Yes it will fit onto a standard or RS2 exhaust manifold.

It looks like a very good mid-way between the standard K24 turbo and the RS2 k24 7200, producing power/torque figures between the 2, but with very quick spool up.

Ok so in affect it is thebest sort of turbo for standard internals? As in will not produce to much torque that it bends the rods but gives a nice spool up and power range, or am i way off the mark?

Not the same turbo as it came from AET, looks like a K26/K27 hybrid to mean, did AET give you any specs?

Think 370 ish around that is a reasonable bhp value

Sonic put up a thread with measurements etc on this one... as Jamo said, AET hybrid with power and lag between K24 and RS2... from measurements it seemed closer to RS2 IIRC.

no.... thats how i have said.
                            thats a sms/mtm 303 bhp hybrid k26! 320 - 330 bhp are possible!
                            I own such a turbo.

it is smaller than the rs2 k24 7200, so the pressure have to be lower. that means, you have lower bhp!

For those that don't know, what are the differences between this and a standard RS2 item? 370 is a nice enough figure and if it spools quicker than an RS2 unit then this is a nice thing to go with if you don't want to change your internals?
