Hi all,
I have been in discussions with a manufacturing workshop and have secured a special price for pressure test adapter for the 3B, ABY, ADU, AAN engines and is also compatible with many others.
The part is an adapter to sit in the intake hose that connects to the airbox. The adapter interfaces to any compressor via a regular tyre valve. The adapter is made from Delrin so it is lightweight and compatible will all fluids around the engine bay. The tyre valve interface is included in the price.
This adapter is essential for anyone wanting to check the integrity of their own intake hoses. We all know that a boost leak will not only lead to reduced power but also will cause the turbo to overspin trying to generate the ECU demanded pressure...the result is a rapid demise of an expensive turbo. We don't want that! This test is also very important before a car is remapped or 'homefried' as it allows an easy check for boost leaks in minutes. Just connect to a compressor, pump to 2bar or so and listen for the hissing. It will even pinpoint if the oil filler cap seal is working effectively as well as other crankcase breathing equipment problems.
If I can get 25 names together for this kit I can supply them for £11.75+Vat delivered to the UK. For overseas enquiries contact me by PM so I can work out the extra shipping charges.
These adapters are available in Europe for much more money so here is your chance to get one cheap. If 50 people are interested, the price somes down to £10.20+VAT delivered. Hard to beat I think. Outside the group buy they will be available for £15+VAT delivered so get one cheap now!
PLease state your interest by posting here or sending me a PM and I will update everyone on progress. I need to commit to these beofore 15 November to get this excellent price as there is workshop capacity available now.
Thanks for looking
Lee

) they are a great idea and at that price well worth it. My only concern is putting 2 bar into the crank case, couldnt this blow out an oil seal, i plug the breather line off as that MAF-Turbo hose doesnt normally see positive pressure. To illiminate valve leakage i plug off the pipe before it goes into the metal intake pipe over the exhaust manifold, just to isolate the turbo system from the engine. You can also test the recirc valve if you unplug that from the MAF-Turbo pipe and plug of that connection leaving the recirc valve to dump to atmosphere (all being well at the correct pressure).
