Also have the gen1 turbo and had a LOT of trouble with the turbo had to rebuild it twice, but Albert sorted everything out and i didnt had to pay a cent, top notch to deal with. Then it was seated on the shelf for a year thu to family matters. Hooked it up with some RS2 injectors last fall (-18) and Had it remapped (VEMS) runs really good with a okay spool (thu to a safemap in the low end to avoid a lot of tourqe as my engine is stock except exhaust and injectors, and 1,5 bars of boost from around 3500-5500 then 1.3 to redline. Needs bigger injectors as my RS2 are on 95% dutycycle, probably could use a relay wiring to the pump as well or a new bigger one

I run the first gen from Albert. It needed a repair once too. But was not Alberts fault. I had issues with the oil supply. After a the repair en fixing the oil problem never had issues with this turbo. Pulling very strong with 1.8bar peak boost and 1.65 @7000rpm. Don't have the exact numbers, bur PerfExpert tells me 550Nm and almost 500bhp. Don't know I can thrust PerfExpert, but it's really going strong. I strongly recommend this turbo.

yeah.... I have one... but was custom mapped.... works ok...
spools fast once going (at around 3,000 rpm) I have it set at 1.8 bar, so not huge boost, but is very driveable... around 550 °C EGT max...

Has anyone else run one of these turbos for any time? Any reports? Or any map recommendations?

I replaced it one day later with an oldschool k26/27/29-8. it runs till today without any problems. Ofcourse I cannot 100% exclude an lubrication problem. But i can exclude an EGT problem.

@Albert: I dont want to say your turbo is crap! Really not. It ran very strong with good spool. I loved it. But when someone is asking for my experience i have to tell the whole story...

    Hi,

    It worked perfect. 1,8bar overboost 3700rpm to 1.3bar redline 7000rpm. Maybe 350hp/550NM @10VT via E85 fuel. EGT<900°C, IAT<55°C WOT 5.Gear Lambda 0.80. I think 450hp possible @ 20vt.

Unfortunately the turbo failed after 2000km. The compressor wheel drops oil and it slided at the compressorhousing. I shipped it back to Albert. He repaired It, but I had to pay around 200€ for the fix. He told me I had to pay the fix because the Compressor failed in case of skyhigh EGT?! He mailed me pics with purple turbineshaft. But there was definitly not to much EGT.

After one month i got it back and sold it on ebay.

This is my factual and honest feedback.

    Greetings
