building a sportquattro

bin all the glass,apart from windscreen,rollcage will add a fair bit of weight but is necessary if its going to be a track car,should save a fair bit of weight with ally floorpans or even carbon floor?how about making a mould of the entire roof and a,b and c pillars when complete and making a fibreglass or carbon/kevlar,complete roof?im sure the mould would be usefull for others too?

That was my idea to on the glass and floor.

All the parts are kevlar and the roof is also in the kit from Aelred.

My plan exactly:
Weld in a rollcage thats also part of th floor structure. Replace the floor with aluminium sheetmetal. Remove all sheetmetal and tank in the boot also sheetmetal behind rearseat. Replace with aluminium sheetmetal.
Replace 90 liter tank with fuelcell
Removing the front from the windsreen to front bumper. Weld tubular structure (part of rollcage) in front to support bodywork. When bodywork is removed you can acces the engine from every angle.
Replace all windows for Lexan windows (race use only) (except front and rear)

Then ofcourse numerous other small bits. But this is the plan in general.

Why do all this you think?? I'm having a shot @ 9 secs in the 1/4 mile with a roadgoing vehicle (dutch regulations) in Sportquattro body.

make sure you take all the sound deadning material off and all the underseal as well and any extra wiring .

I've got another spare set of doors for the SQ. Without windows and mechanical stuff. So extra light for 1/4 miles

what turbo are you gonna put on which intercooler?
and i think some brakes would be a good choice too

Nope, the engine from my S2 goes in the SQ. with a "modern" turbo with at least 600 hp.

Nope, Cees is ready for Mihnea's magic. Then we finally know how much power it gives
And I want to see some more setups with different turbo's (MARK :mischeif: )
