with 10j wheel i had to put 15mm spacer to fill the arches .quattro hubs stick out further so you can get away with 9j wheels .you will also have to use the drive shafts from an s2 .what gearbox are you thinking of using ?

Can the engine still be balanced without the damper in the pulley? The weight in that thing is well off centre IIRC.

i'm having all the bottom end completely balanced .when the damper is worn and its wobbling all over the place it can't be in balance anyway .
those original pullys are expensive heavy and wear out .
i know almost everyone on here thinks you have to have vibration damper for balance but no one really knows for sure ,no one has really experimented they are just opinions .pembo has alloy one on his rally car and he said he's had no problems .
i've seen alloy pullys on v8 engines and so many jap engines they don't seem to have any problems .
i'll go along with someone with 40years of engineering experience and see what happens if he says it should be ok then i think it will be .

Steel cam gear for the crank shaft on 3B, ABY, AAN and ADU engines. Use with an adjustable cam gear is recommended.
