s2 saloon

hi everybody, this is my first post on to the forum because i use it for info and ideas(and ther is some really good ones)

anyway im been thinking of swaping my 2.8 v6 with aby engine from a s2 avant for about 6 months. what would i need to change? i know the rs2 exhast manifold has a limit on max hp but what about the rs2 inlet manifold? i was thinking of putting in differant cams, tubular exhast manifold, k27 or 29 turbo, bigger intercooler, rs2 injecters and a free flow filter? i was aiming for about 350-425hp? would this be possible with that setup?

Hi mate

Im led to believe that the rs2 turbo and ex/manifold are good for up to around 400 hp with high flow injectors, large intercooler and 3" exhaust. Standard inlet manifold is ok. Exhaust cam from 7a is helpful, so is a bosch motorsport fuel pump.
The v6s are a pain, you have to hack out engine mounts from a 5 cyl car and weld them into your motor.
You'll also have to get hold of a s2 or rs2 front bumper so you can house the intercooler.
(i think im missing something off the list but cant think right now)
Ive taken this v6/saloon route and am still waiting for it be ready but i know its been worth the wait. A saloon is pretty hard to beat in the looks dept if done right IMHO!

Loom and ECU

cheers. i thot about geting a writen off s2 avant as a doner car but decided it would be better if i just got a complete road worthy car insted. then i would'nt have to search for things like the loom, ecu, clocks, ect. do u have to cut off the mounts if so what condition would thay be in to weld back on? how hard is it to get the mounts lined up in the right place? if anybody has any pictures of this conversion it would be a big help?

QR Sport did my mounts so you could give them a call and see what they advise.
It is hard work though.
Done correctly it should be strong as, if not stronger than factory mounts.
I dont have any pics yet.

My cuz has a converted 90 quattro sport with aby and rs2 setup which he's going to sell very soon. He's even toying with the idea of taking all the mods off and selling it as a standard 90 quattro sport.
There are a few people interested and he's not in a rush..
But if you could buy his setup and you'll have scored all in a 1er!

-rs2 turbo
-rs2 manifold
-rs2 injectors
-large intercooler
-custom short inlet manifold
-lots more.. all you need is a re-map
