Still F*****g waiting for final fine tune. That's the problem with being different - having Pectel means tuner will only let Ahmed Bayjoo ??? touch it. Pinned him down and was due to be done day when snowed. Now tuner is moving 10,000 sq ft workshop. Any day now (I keep telling myself this). Insured the car for really good price on Classic/modified policy. All declared, in London 6000 miles - £735.
Hope to see all soon - taken day off work for MRC meeting. Will die if not ready by then.
Cheers
Chris
Ahmed Bayjoo is to Pectel what Mihnea is to Motronic - the guru. He maps most of Ford motorsport engines and has developed his own software for mapping the Pectel. That's why he is so difficult to pin down.
The ??? was just to do with spelling of his name.

PS. Update - car can't be worked on until tuners new workshop fully up and running with electrics. So not until after 27th now
For you I've already got a system(DTA P8Pro) I can map myself
New system propably not more expensive then have somebody make a program from scratch, and 27. nov is a long time to wait.......
Not 27th November, 27th of Feb!
Opted for the Pectel as it is completely sequential system. This just means it can map every cylinder indepentantly which does have advantages. Just about only option we knew about that was available at the time my engine was built that was. Still not too many systems about now that are. But this comes at a high price - and befoore I get castigated, not necessarily better than other available systems - lots of high powered cars on here running Motronics proves that!.
Was it worth it? Possibly not, but very happy with car and too late to change without incurring further expense. WOrked extremely well when had the 390bhp setup. Really did notknow what turbo lag was - not until changes to tubular EM that is. Rather than go just for re-map, decided to go for more power at same time. Not as cheap as anticipated - these things never are.
Bigger turbo led to bigger injectors. New fuel rail. CUstom Inlet manifold. 2 fuel pumps and all piping. List goes on and on...
But hey, none of us would be here if we didn't understand the pitfalls - the biggest in my case seems forever waiting for the sevices of the mapper. But once it's done won't need him any more (unless decide further changes )
Cheers
Chris
My mistake. Read "until after 27th now" as until after 27th november
The power addict is expensive, but hey you have no use for the money when you're 6 feet under
Cheers,
Roger
