The wheels are ET45. I'm running spacers in the back and front.

The guys who rebuilt it the first time are willing to have a look at it and we'll see what kind of agreement we come up with.. I'll cross my fingers!

Those are A8 wheels (here we called them euro A8 flat fives.. don't know about your side of the ocean!), I've heard they are called Audi Comps too. They are 18x8.5

                  Here ya go !! :mischeif:

The car is getting its final ajustements this week with its new 034 catch can setup.. I had big troubles with my previous catch can which was shooting oil by the breather when pushing the car too much... I also just installed a nice electronic boost controller

I still had other issues during the summer, with my software this time, so I only had the car back in my driveway this fall. I had a timing issue with the software during the final tune on the dyno and damaged piston no.1. Luckily, my block wasn't damage so I just had to change the piston and some parts to get it back on track. It seemed that there was a problem with the last update of the vems software which permitted too much timing.

The car is running crazy good and I can't tell how fun it is to be able to drive it again.
Didn't get a chance to rock the new wheels for too long.. studded winter tires are going to be installed in a couple of weeks.

I have some little ideas for the car for next spring, like new harder suspension. With the power I have right now, the H&R and bilsteins combo just doesn't do it. Other thing on the list is wrapping the hood with CF look. My friend has the material and it looks really good. Since my hood is starting to rust a little, might as well try it out!

Oh and if you guys have any leads on a nice RS2 or even S2 front bumper (not a ****** replica like mine), I'm a taker if shipping is not too crazy.

Ok, that's it, I'm done with the cursed car now !!

Car was running great after the final rebuilt and was only waiting for some final adjustments until I started it last weekend to enjoy it a little after 3 weeks of rest in my driveway... don't know what happened then but looks like a have (again) a compression problem.

My friend will investigate more next week to see what could be the damage at, but to me, that's already too much.

So, I'm starting to look at what could be done with the car.. storing for long term project in a couple of years of just getting rid of the curse by parting out or selling complete...
Like we say in french, "c'est la goutte qui fait déborder le vase", too much for me right now I just want to get it out of my sight.
I'm really thinking there's something going bad here.. either the car is cursed or me+the car doesn't match at all.... it just can't be !!

Sorry to hear that it's been a long road with this car but it's worth it. Stripping it will be hard to take
Put it away for a month and wait to see what the problem is before you decide what to do?

I think it's going to be more like: put it away for many months and then when I have the faith and money, make a race car out of it.

It's hard for me to think of parting it away.. I've worked so hard on it that it's going to tear me appart to do this.

We'll see.. but for now I'm looking for a TT to cheer me up.

Of the two options, tuck it away for a few months until you've missed it for a while

** August 3rd update ** My buyer backed out, so the car is parting out, starting this weekend. Please see the other thread for details : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48328 As many of you already know, now is the time for me to let go of my baby which gave me so much pride and joy in the past 6 years...

Bad crankwalk but as long as we don't remove the block, we can't be exactly sure of the cause.
