jeffer could you and cees knock me up an aluminium flywheel between you? im struggling to get hold of one as fadanza dont do one for that engine and 034 seem to think theres wont work on a 5V
stripped out the boot on sunday s6 rad fits snug behind the fuel tank up against the rear pannel takes up very little space at all - will post pictures later
fly wheel in the hands of jeffer and cees
still trying to find somewhere ideally in the Uk to decode the ecu
Why do you want the cooler in the trunk? I mean, the work load is huge compared to the pretty bad performance often displayed in such installations. Just fit the cooler up front. Loads of people has done that when converting to V8, both on CQ's, B3's and T85's. Personally I don't think that the gain in weight distribution is that important. To top it off, moving something from one end of the car to the other end of the car might make it better axle-load wise but as for as moment of inertia you gain very little. So -what's your take on it? Just want to know in case I missed anything on my project.
Is the sump different on the 40V than on the 32V engines? When I mounted a ABH to my car I did not notice any clearence issues. Last time I checked, the partnumbers were the same. I lowered the engine so much that the sump was below the SF and still it cleared.
Cool project though. Feels a bit weird that the yank's were way a head on us euro's on this kind of swap though - but it seems we are getting there though.
well ive driven the car (with the old engine) with 2 bags of sand in the boot, cornering (felt) better, and alot of the works cars had this which im guessing was more than just because there wasnt much space at the front
also the rad i have is quite big so full of water right at the end of the bonnet is going to be a very big lever over the axle, i am going to weigh it full of water as a matter of interest.
anyway at the end of the day if it dosent work its not a big deal to move it back is it?
he who never tried never succeeded !!!
as for the sump the fins on the sump where it goes over the sub frame were not allowing it to sit down far enough, duno it the sumps are different??
