Yep agree with you about the clutter around S2 rad - but it is fed from a very high pressure area at the front of the car, whereas this system won't be. The exit doesn't need to be huge as the air has just been asked to pass through a barn door called a radiator core. But yes I take your point and the fans would probably do the trick!

Seems like sound thinking here Wab - I like it !

Only thing I'd advise you for is to go with two electric pumps that operate in a load sharing fashion, but each should be capable of individually covering the flow requirements in the event of failure (at least for a gentle cruise home).

i have 2 x 11" fans pulling the air through a approx 2ft x 1ft 1.5" rad not sure what the CFM of the fans is

following some advice from jamil on electric water pumps my idea with this is to put the pump below the rad in the boot so that the pump is fed by gravity, this will be turned on and off by a thermostatic switch near where the normal engine thermostat would usually be, the fins on the rear of the standard pump will be removed so this will then become just a pulley which will also reduce load on the engine and may even give a slight increase in power

the water will be piped along the transmission tunnel with soild stainless steel tubing and fed into the boot, rad thermo switch will work as normal with a manual overide incase of emergency

Good pump and system, been popular in motorsport for a while, either as a backup or as the main water pump.

              cheers matey!

i have made a mold for my rad enclosure(not finnished yet needs more filler)

i have cut the bottom out of the boot floor to allow air to escape (needs more work yet to tunnel the air out)

bottom rad mounting brackets are done, not finnished top ones yet

rear bumper vent nearly finnished, basicly grinding the face off the back of the honey comb in my bumper makes a nice neat vent, looks similar to the size of an RS6 grill

next job is piping to the front going to go down the transmission tunnel with two lengths of stainless steel pipe, then samco at each end
