Both of them is , but really just ur-quattro's

SOOO you guys don't think the S1 would do the job or do you think it is overkill.
I must admit there are a few sportquattro's about so an S1 would be rarer and far less seen and some proper car porn to look at when completed.

How about an S1 in metallic silver without any livery and BBS LMs?
        THAT would be car porn!

personally if i was building an s1 it would be all about attention to detail, you are going to have to go to great lengths to get all the correct dimentions of all the body componets etc for it to be worth something when its done at a guess i would say you need to buget for atleast 20k without even touching the engine/transmission etc

so if it were me id be doing an A2 as it would be quicker, easyier, cheaper

only reason i like the s1 is from an engineering point of view, aspheticly its kinda ugly

the A2 wide body coupe has great lines and looks propper,

on the other hand if you wanted to really excel yourself and make the ultimate audi look at the mid engine group B car that never raced, only one ive ever seen is on the web beleve its at audi in a musium

if i had the motivation and the money thats what id be building, its all about being unique

            just my 2p

Wonder were the design-language would have ended up had Audi gone for that car in rallying. I mean, it doesn't really look alot like the S1... Or any Audi from that age. It looks more like a weird Porsche maybe. However, that would be a cool "kit car"...

totally agree with wab s1 is not the prettiest car but from engineering point of view its magic .
so to do a s1 you have to spend series amount of money and time to get it right you deffinetly cant skimp .it has to be done properly to look real .the original s1's were at one time going for £250.000.my sport replica has cost me about £23000 and thats without going mad on the engine and about 3 years of labour .so think carefully 1 can you afford it and secondly have you got enough knowledge to build one .dont get me wrong i'm not trying to put you off just offering you genuine advice

As my father always taught me - where there is a will there is a way!!!!!

Anyway the plan is to do it in a couple of stages - Body chop, Body work, Paint, save up again for a bit, engine (in the saving up period it will be runing on the 10V engine)

go for it and take your time but make sure you do everything properly even if it takes you 4 years build one like the pikes peak one with a vent in the roof for the rear radiators

What about using the side vents to channal air to the rad? would be easier

but if you build a pikes peak replica make it look the part go all the way

No I don't like the look of the pikes peak one with the extra spoiler on the front looks a bit strange. Just a plain ol' one for me.

@ JON441c - Don't know as of yet the aim is to get the thing looking right first and all the ancilaries working, Handbrake, rad in boot, etc. Then I will turn My attention to the engine.

In the end thought the aim would be about 500hp. Anything over that would be a bonus.
