Alex, I have a 3B (or 7A) flywheel knocking about here somewhere, you're quite welcome to it, if that'll help?

Bad luck Alex. Hope you get it sorted soon. Grantley is useless in every way. BTDT!

Be quite interested to see it some time.

Cheers for the offer ~delta but he should make good today. Still after those hubs though (nudge nudge) and a few other odds and sods. Call me when that S2 is cleared could you? Still no rush on those bits. Cheers for your sympathy Andy, long time no see, hows the car treating you?

          She runs!!!!!
I'm unsure what day it is now but today I finally fired her up, sadly I didnt drive her because I had a few interesting problems. Firstly about whether to put the engine in complete I would recommend it it went pretty smoothly, only tightening the o/s engine mount was a squeeze thanks to the turbo. I had to customise my PS pipe to resevior slightly as I am not having a hydraulic brake system but wanted to use the S2 pump bracket. Also I must admit my brake servo vacuum puipe isnt the prettiest but I will change that. When it came to fitting my samcos, I came across another problem the pipe from my crossmember points straight back rather than bending I have no idea why !?! I have worked around it for the time being but need to get it sorted. Finally I couldnt get my V6 bumper to fit on for love nor money, maybe I was just tired but it wouldnt sit right. The car also has a slight oil leak from one of the oil cooler pipes which isnt the end of the world. Electrically eveything is great all my gauges work cooling fan cuts in, no ECU codes. Oddly my central locking has packed in (possibly unrelated) Fingers crossed I will be driving her after work tomorrow.

          Few questions:
Anyone have oil cooler pipe spare?
Anyone had toubles fitting V6 bumper to a Audi 90 (apart from the wings)?
Does the ABY have a different cross member to a 3B (I cant remember)?

A quick word of thanks to the people who got me out of trouble with my clutch and flywheel. I am in your debt New convertor / Steve H for your time and efforts

Pics should be coming soon, I picked her up from longlife in Gloucester today, she sounds lovely not sure about my tail pipes which is a shame because I never saw them before hand as a colleague dropped the car round. Still today is a great day I finally own and drive a 20V 5CYL Turbo. I am a happy man.

P.S. Saw a J reg green S2 there this afternoon as I picked mine up, definatly a forum member (thanks to the decal) 3" sounds lovely!!

Glad everything is finally going in the right direction Alex!
What's the issue with the tail pipes? Did you go for the DTM style?

That'd be mine then Getting the downpipe sorted - going from stock w/ external WG to 3" w/ internal WG. T'was a bit noisey. I'm intrigued to see how she sounds! I wondered who's project that was on the ramp, didn't put 2+2 together but figured it had to be a bit of an Audi nut!! Glad to hear she's running!

Finally figured it was time to update this project again.
My engine is back out. I decided I need more power. I have gone for a GT3071R just to be original. I have a set of scat rods (thanks bry, still havnt forgotten the 2.8 aiflow your after) aluminium flywheel, 60lb/hr injectors (thanks Tom) RS2 replica intercooler (thanks Steve H) clutchnet clutch (thanks SteveH/Russ) a 044 motorsport fuel pump on its way (thanks Russ) 034 Engine and transmission mounts & promount topmounts (thanks Corey). I ended up going for OEM main bearings and RS2 spluttered big end bearings (thanks for your advice Mark Halligan, glycol were out of stock) Got standard OEM rings, was tempted by total seal but stuck with what I know. I also have koni shocks and H&R springs plus a full set of Powerflex wishbone/rear diff bush (thanks VAGparts).

Currently they are all waiting to go on whilst my crank is being lightened by Basset Down. I am massively in debt because of this project and people who know me will know that just about everything that could go wrong has with my car. I was particulary impressed when I found out my first crank was bent! Still I thought I would update.

I am still pondering on whether to go for moving my MAF to the pressure side, I should but I have litterally run out of cash. Has anyone here got away with not moving it on a GT3071r (i must be due some good luck)

Looking back on this post I realise how much I owe to this forum. So thankyou everyone. I will post you photos as soon as I can fine my computer lead.

I would never do this again! Heres for hoping it all works out in the end

Bending a crank is not easy and certainly having spent a lot of money getting your car to a standard, it hurts. I've been there!
The debt hurts too, but when you finally get the car on the road, the smile you get does make it all wothwhile (mine is off the road again right now ). You certainly can't take it with you so enjoy while you can.
                                Well done for percevering.
