Ok this might have gotten out of hand.

I bought a complete AAN engine last week, complete with intake and so on, and today I bought another AAN block !! LOL. And I'm going to buy the CP pistons that we have GB on later this autumn. I also bought titanium retainers and new valve springs, the uprated sort!

New stuff ordered:

Titanium retainers
Uprated vavlesprings
ARP bolts for the head
and some other small stuff

my new headgasket have arrived
my new valves and some more stuff of course.

Hoping on putting the car back before the summer is over. A new block is on its way.

i have heard that titanium retainers are not for long lasting,but for short bigtime rpm legths

That might be true. Not sure about that. But since my car runs about 20000km and then gets a total overhaul, I don't see it as a problem. But thanks for the info

Billman: It's because I'm serious about my car. Every winter I'm taking the head of and checking for any possible errors. But I'm a bit confused. Isn't titanium supposed to be one of the strongest materials on the planet, I mean if it can go out to space, it should hold together in my head a few thousand kilomters ???

Started repair of the head



A few hours of welding, and a few more with the grinder, and it's done.

What cams are you using now? And how about the 7A cams that you told before? Is your car spooling up -1000rpm? As I understand, if its all about 7A cams, then both cams?

According to the person I bought them from, these cams have been tested with a T60-1 turbo, and with 7a cams they had boost at 5000 rpm, to the redline, and with my machined cams, 4000 rpm to the redline.

So the difference isn't 1000 rpm on every turbo ofc, just this one that they tested.

I have 2 7a cams machined to a "secret" profile, even I don't know it, nor the duration.

Bought another engine today. An ABY engine, and another ABY head with new stiffer springs. so now I have 3 heads and 3 bottom ends!!!

Also KONI shocks , and another rear diff so I have 2 spares..

Will start to disassemble my old engine next week and swap parts in between.

Now I have lots of funny stuff
