I was able to test my ECM in another car... It works

I now have my CEL working

I pull 2111 = engine speed sensor; which is no shock as it won't start.

Have power to coils and power to injectors

      Cam timing?
Check it again.... inculding inlet to exhaust, cam cover off job... the two 0s should be opposite each other...when all the others are in position...

The fuel rail is piped the right way round? feed goes to the far end of the rail first (nearest the front)....

Have you double checked that the two crankshaft sensors are correctly wired up ?

Its really easy to cross those connectors...

Also easy to cross the connectors in and out of the POS units...

Have you checked that the camshaft sensor is producing a signal ?

What about earth straps - are they all in place and in good condition ?

I would also check wiring integrity from all the motronic fuses to whatever they are protecting - injectors, amps, ECU etc etc

Do the POS (power output stages) need to be grounded?

from the factory they are bolted to metal, and I bolted them to a carbon fiber strip.

Never mind I just read that the POS is grounded throught the plug not the bolts.

Thats bad on two grounds (sorry) - Firstly I believe the body does need to be grounded (haven't checked diagrams though). Secondly this metallic bonding serves as heatsink. In the factory they used a thermal conductive paste to help move heat from the POS units to the bulkhead.

How can I check if the camshaft sensor is producing a signal, Multimeter ?

I just read that also; If my EM, Hotside, WG, and Down pipe are ceramic coated then it should help reduce the heat on those too.

I will ground the bolts and see what happens.

                  Thanx

Far from ideal... needs an oscilloscope to do it justice really. Are you absolutely certain about crank and cam timing ?

Have you checked the two senders at the crankshaft have the right plugs wired up ?

                    Its almost certainly something stupid...

I used two jumpers to ground the POS and I did get a faint spark from at least 1 plug (I pulled off the coils and laid them across the valve cover) It wasn't very strong

I'm thinking I will switch to 1.8t coils then I won't have to worry about the POS + I will know that the coils are new. I would rather use factory stuff but they cost more than double

The bad thing is I have a small oil leak from the rear (possibly the rear main seal) so I will pull the motor today. But I will double check that every thing is lined up with the timing marks.

Looks like an oil gallery blank, from when the block was drilled at the factory...
So yes it should have oil behind it.

if the coils are short-circuted the car wan't fire. If you can, chech with another coil pack.
