Didn't get to turn the key this weekend

Mrs got in a piss about all the time I spend in the garage. I couldn't really argue with her

Heads on, both manifolds, mounts, injectors and fuel rail.
Next job is to swap gearboxes over. Not something I'm looking forward to

            Steve,
            Engine looks great!
Do you have A/C? If so, could I get a picture of your oil filter housing?

Your "Mrs" and mine must be talking. I also spend too much time in the garage!

              Dave,

I don't have A/C on my car. The turbo oil return pipe is attached to the side of the block, rather than the oil pan extension.

I can take a pic of that if it helps?

That only lasts for about a year or so. Used that one up!

No, that's alright. I wanted to see a picture of the oil filter housing that is used with a A/C car.
                    Thanks for the offer though!

                        Had a good day today

All the parts I want to attach prior to moving the engine back into the car are on. I've added an extra bit of heat shield to the exhaust side of the block and attempted to get it to partly cover the inlet piping. I'm sure this will help to reduce radiated heat on the intake plumbing, however, it may also hold heat once it's there I'm going to lag the exhaust downpipe with heat wrap too. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Big intercoolers are great and do their job well, however, they're not much use if the air is heated after leaving them before it gets to the cylinders. I'm going to experiment with reducing underbonnet temps as it's a relatively cheap way of gaining a few ponies. Has anyone else tried exhaust wrap or any other heat barriers on their S2?

                            Steve,

Looking good on the outside , and you've got some nice stuff tucked away inside that block too .

                            Bring on the boost .

                            Cheers,

I'm going to have to run the motor in before we crank the boost up. That is going to be so hard after driving a Carlton for 3 months

However, the info that came with the piston rings did say 'use maximum torque during bedding in'
