Anyone who has read my 'project 400' thread will know that the Coupe came to a sad end. Fortunately, many parts of it have lived on in other people's 3Bs but I have kept the engine for myself. Here are the parts i have:
1995 Avant with full RS2 exterior/interior/suspension mods inc. 996's up front.
3B engine complete, rebuilt with SPM rods. 7A ex. cam + uprated clutch.
ABY engine complete, 120k miles
Bosch 044 Fuel Pump
3" Downpipe
RS2 IC
RS2 IM
RS2 EM (cracked)
RS2 Airbox
GT3071R turbo
630cc "Audiman's Special" Injectors
Paul Nugent's 300mm rear brake upgrade
The plan is to replace the RS2 EM with a new, ceramic coated item and fit the GT3071. We aim to mod the Airbox so it can be kept. MAF will be moved to pressure side to avoid any stalling issues from last time.
The downpipe will be mated to the 3" cat-back system already fitted, RS2 IM and IC retained, and the ABY head will be fitted to the 3B block with a dual-layer HG (do not want to remove pistons for skimming).
The 7A cam will be swapped to the ABY head, which will be rebuilt with an 034 oversize valve set before fitment with ARP head bolts. I also intend to fit new ABY oil pump, RS2 water pump + AC compressor (currently not working). I am investigating fitment of a larger oil cooler as well.
Work will be starting in a week's time, I'll post some pics and updates as it moves on. The original engine dyno'd 428bhp; my target here is 420bhp with the new engine, but with slight stealth-refinements (such as the dual-box exhaust).

ok so 430 would be nice... I'm figuring with an extra silencer and a race cat in the exhaust, I'll probably lose a few horses. So I'm setting my goals low to avoid dissapointment
