Great more golf audi hybrids i just love the lines of the old mk2 golf you obviosly have good taste

What can be squeezed out of the 1.8t with a gt3071 bolted on?? what internals do you have in it??

have SCAT rods to hold it together and RS2 rod bearings. Head is big port, std valves and cams, just rebuilt.

with the tubular manifold it should be doing somewhere between 400-475bhp depending on exhaust system and head flow.

can't believe i never noticed this thread untill now, cars looking good, its gonna be cool when its all finished, i have a mk2 1.8t aswell,only running 270bhp just now but hopefully 350-400 next year sometime.

You sure your going to get that power out of the 3071 mate?

034 reckon the most you can get out of it is 400 wbhp if running the 0.82 hotside

Mmmm, not sure. i guess it all depends on the setup. I have read varying reports on different forums about power outputs on 1.8ts with the same turbo. We will soon see what 2.2bar can do

Oh i had a Fastra Gsi running around 400bhp looked stock and was fun when passing the jap crew....

UPDATE: been a while since i posted on here about the car so here is an update.

The 034 Motorsport manifold wasnt suited to a mk2 golf so had to get JBS Autodesign to make one that was. It was double the price but its a real work of art. Anyway got the turbo all on, and basially its all up and running now with high flowing fuel rail, oil seperator, 10bar 044 fuel pump, solid eng mounts, spec stage 4 clutch, the list goes on and on. Have way over spent on this little project.

Well 1st Dec was the day i took it on the road. Done over 200 miles now, trying to get it to run reasonably which is a nice feeling as the 034 ECU is fairly user freindly.

Onlt had one problem which was down to pure laziness, i couldnt be arsed to fit a new rad and the old one popped during the week. So I wish i just spent the whole £40 on a new one in the first place.

Im trying to run it in a bit, set the rev limit to 4k and boost is limited to 0.9bar, which it just about does at 3.4k, but it already feels fast.

i did a 5th gear pull too, bit hard to video yourself, esp when you are trying to run it in

Nice work too. Complaining about overspendin - how I wish I could do some mechanics, but would gladly swop places with you
