Vagparts do the sump plug for a couple of quid and are fast and reliable. Best to give them a ring or look at there online webpage.

Strange that when you were doing inspection, you haven't noticed that 20v sump plug is big (M26x1.5 thread if I remember), and that on the picture is small... Big sump plug is also very popular on various VAG's so there should not be a problem to get it.

Put in a 7hour shift on the s2 today but got the turbo changed
pretty good going since im dying with the flu.

Started by draining the oil, had a bit of a job removing the sump plug should have been replaced last time me thinks mole grips and a big hammer sorted the problem though. was fighting for a while to get the turbo removed but some good advice from the forum members/threads helped big time

managed to get the new turbo fitted and all the coolant/oil lines back together.
next job is putting the samcos back on, fitting oil filter and new oil.

away to hit the dark rum and anadins

your missing a block connector on that sensor on the back of the head, looks like someone has had to cut it off in the past and just used spades to reconnect.

Good job on the turbo btw, enjoy the access with the engine in situ?

Think that is the sensor that is linked with your WGFV

Looks like one of the coolant sensors is it on the left hand side of the block just below the inlet pipe?

Jamo's got it. It's the G62 coolant temperature sensor.
                                035 919 369M is it's part number.
If thats not hooked up correctly, you'll get bad MPG and very rich running.
