Another busy day today
New oil filter and plug washer arrived from VAG part, so set to filling her back up with oil refitted samcos and new 8mm re-enforced hose to wgfv.
wgfv was never in the right place when I got the car so tried it in with the coil
uppermost but it was very close to the EM so I turned it upside down so the plug was pointing away from the EM. not sure if thats right but the hoses are in the correct place.
Removed the injectors and tried to crank the engine but no joy
Found the starter solenoid connection was pulled off Doh!
Got it reconnected and cranked the engine till I got the oil pumping through the turbo.
Fired her up and checked for leaks topped up oil and coolant.
took her out but only running on 5psi mech boost
but I have just installed the mil circuit so tried it out and found the code 4431 idle stab valve gammy?
checked the wiring and went to the fuses found out my fuse holder 26 must be missing popped out the fuse board and found holder 26
dangling inside the harness with a blown fuse was hoping I had cleared the fault before as the wgfv was grounded to earth
popped in a fuse reset the ecu fault gone!
im still grinning yet got 12psi

whoo hoo thanks for all your input guys
What will be next?

Steve,
I think when I saw your car at Glasgow Audi the windscreen rubber seal was underneath the scuttle plastic cover on the passenger side, the lip of the seal should ly on top of the plastic cover , you get it a lot when people change their pollen filter or have been playing with wiper motor etc ands put it back together wrong , cause th seal is a real pain to fish out from under the plastic, worth checking anyway for the passenger side leak, if you search around you'll find the usual suspect for the driver side could be the bulkhead grommet for bonnet release cable..
