We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
Also worth cchecking out the Ford Model A with the 250bhp BDA engine that Juha Kankunnen owns on the site. Especially the video with the sound turned up.
Thanks for posting, that's amazing. I wish that I had a spare €430,000 for the S4 that they have for sale. It doesn't look like a five minute job and judging by the other cars that they have made, it'll probably be better that when it left the factory. Shame they had to cut up such a clean looking coupe for bits! It'll be interesting to see that when it's done.
Its good to see people taking pride in something thats such an icon and classic and spending time and money doing stuff others would just think was pointless.
Mmmm if only I had them tools I would love to do that as a day job
I second that.
But the sills/skirts they made are really the work of experts, so I can only dream about rebuilding old group B and other legendery cars.
does anyone have 430 000 euros that I can borrow, I would love too have that S4.
I Own a Type 85 Coupe Quattro, but its currently in the garage getting teard apart.
I am in awe - I wish I had a fraction of the skill needed to attempt that work. Yes its a shame to ruin a perfectly good Typ85 GT - but you just know the result is gonna be good. I'd love to work there for a month unpaid just to get a taste for that !
At photos 53 and 106 in that sequence you almost want to cry out of pity for the two cars. Then at 118 you see the glimmer of hope and at 157 I think the caption from the lads is 'oh *^%$ what do we do now' and the nexty 50 odd photos just show them getting on with it - brilliant - just brilliant.
This stuff reminds me about the post about the mad French-Canadian dude who was a draughtsman that decided he'd build a replica of a Hummer from scratch - and he taught himself to weld along the way - its a showcase of what you can do with enough time, skill and energy if you want to - all of which rather belittles twitting around with a website or two.
I've really got the itching to build something again.
Then jump to pic 111 for the absolute proof these guys have possibly *THE* most fun job available. Its a bit different from the normal background of classic cars, old rally cars, the odd Ferrari and such. Man I hate my job
