11.01 Second run upto 600hp

After alot of work and setting up i finally got the car ready for a local drag event.
Thanks to Prosty for the Sachs race engineering clutch setup my clutch troubles are finally over.
I put the Sachs kit in and after some initial lightness of the pedal the clutch settled down and the car was ready to race after the bed in period.

I Installed a Greddy Profec B Bosst controller as well and got it setup, Not the easiest boost controller to setup but once you used to it it holds the boost very well.

We mapped the car up to the limit of the RC Engineering 750cc injectors, at 1.9 bar boost the injectors wher maxed out, my tuner (FRC Racing) recommended i turn the boost down and he took off some timing to be on the safe side but before we detuned i did some testing none the less.

I got this Gtech Run @ 1.9bar


We detuned the car running to 1.7bar boost, reduced timing and entered the drag.
I used road tyres and the track was a street track.

I ran a 12.3 1/4 mile, rolling the car off the line with 1.9bar boost.(testing )
In the drag i ran 1.7 bar boost and got the figures below.
Best run was a 11.01 second run @ 208 kmph.

Very Happy with the performance.

Is you car building up max boost really only around 5500 RPM? I thought that a GT30 and 2.5L would bring it down to approx 3000 RPM?

She gets full boost at 4200 Rpm.
Thers a few reasons why the car is more laggy than others , hardware was choosen with high RPM hp in mind and needs little more tuning.
Remember i have ported head with big valves and large dia Exhaust runners. ( Little dumb to have a Gt30 at the end eh ? )

You can always apply a bigger turbo

Great clutch isn't it , how on earth did you max out the RC 750cc at 1.9 bar running at 4 bar they are near enough 866cc

I'm Suspecting that the Fuel pressure is dropping thus the injectors are maxing out.
I'm using the stock Fuel pressure regulator and the AFR is no leaner than 12.4.
Is the stock fuel pressure 4 bar or 3 bars ?
Getting some equipment to measure the fuel pressure now.

It might be tired, if it's the original be worth replacing it, what fuel pump you using as well?

If your car was ABY it was 4 bar, if it was 3B then it was 3 bar

I've found this weekend my car was running the RS2 one at 3.8 bar

255? if so that is could most likely going to be the problem as it will max out before it's spec

I've heard of that before with the Walbro pumps

If you have the opportunity, please do a HP measurement going through the whole rpm scale from 2000 rpm and up, that will give a different curve that the limited rpm you go through on an acceleration test! Then you should see the torque peak earlier!

Great to hear that the clutch survived the long trip to SA and that it performs just as good as I've been telling ppl
