Some photo will be good.Mine is quattro now.Working at rear wheel arches now,and need to clean all and apply sprayable ruber protection, paint, engine, loom etc.More to do..
The only fxxxing things i can not order are engine mountings brackets(mine was 1.8 so engine was not staying on longitudinal members)
I will have to take of the 2 of them from the quattro donor but they are very well welded
You need to post more photo.
Thank you Bogdan! I am thinking at this also! Actualy...the welds from the tunnel wich i done when i modified the chasis for the quattro drivetrain...are ok...
The subframes....brakes...suspension...etc are very rusty. Also...under the jacking points is alot of rust...those small parts i have to change...
I will make some pictures with the tunnel welds and the rest...maibe will help you a little for your projects!
i sugest not to blast all if you have small regions of rust. The body is not galvanised but it has some protection layer on it.And that is gone with regular blasting. You will have to see how much rust you have in it and also how your "quattro weldings" did all this time.
ROMANIAAAAA!!!!
Actualy...i have a company here in Bucharest....for 2000 ron....aprox 500 euro...they will sandblast the entire body.
Dont know what to do still......i will see how really the body looks after dismantling everything...
You call that bad rust?you should seen my Suzuki samurai before rebuild
Found a wet blasting company in region Harghita.Sent them a price ofer request for all running gear and rims blasting.
How do you manage with blasting in your area? Here they asked 100E for blasting and coating my 15 inch steel rims of my vw van.New ones are around 200
No Chris! Nothing changed... The plan is to finish the engine till next summer and come there to receive the KMS ecu and loom plus mapping...at H's.
Soo hopefully...next year i will be there. Should be no issues..except money offcourse...but i will manage this somehow.
Yours will be ready till then....offf....i hope i will get a run in yours!!!
Goodluck with the mapping session Chris! Keep us informed please!
first picture with the helper.....poor kitten...i found him in my yard with an broken leg... unfortunatly, the leg was soo bad injured that the doctor had to amputate.
Now is fine and is the garage mascot.
next you can see how bad the rust is....entire rear suspension is full of rust.
Alot off work...and the last....some wires wich i have to remove....
Hopfully i will be able to put them back as it should...

I had to build 3 cars from scratch in these 2 years to get some money for my own...damn crisis..... but i will continue no matter what!
I will post some pictures later...i have to remove the wiring and the brake and fuel pipes from under.
Oh my god! Is allmost 2 years since last update...but..today...i started working back at my car!
All the other projects are finished and i can focus at my own.
Started dismantle the car... is soo rusty after 4 years unmoved in the garage.
I hope at the end of next week, the bare metal will go to the shop where it will receive the deserved clean...paint...and fiberglass panels.
I will post some pictures with the car in this state...
