Well.. what can I say.. I'm worthless in a garage (in my defense I've been on vacation and so on.. but not for the entire down-time of course).. haven't touched it for months.. but tonight, at last, the machine was resurrected!
Some pictures (I have some movies somewhere):
The exhaust was completed and all parts of the engine that my friends borrowed, me knowingly or not, has been re-mounted <: It sounds AWESOME!
And perhaps some plans will have to change.. as turbo/ic/em/choice of ecu.. cuz I start to like it more and more.. well.. who knows.. at last I can FINALLY MOT!
Finally, my biggest of thanks to Tony, without him nothing would ever get done.
I hope the exhaust tips do not melt your rear bumper! It happend to my car, when I noticed that the exhaust really expands when going flat-out. The exhaust stretches about 2 inch over the total length.
The exhaust tips look exactly the same on my coupe and I dont have any problems there so here to hoping <:
There are also 2 quite big mufflers on the system so the car is quite tame on idle.. but it makes a sweet sound when going flat out.. but there aint much power atm.. stock engine/externals..
the bushings are.. oh-behave.. <: the chassis.. meeeeerrrrcy.. the brakes.. we-are-getting-to-old-for-this.. the paint is.. kinda-okay-actually.. the interior.. im-not-getting-in (gf) but I ******* LOVE IT <:
All rs2 items except interior has been sorted, need that interior.. grr.
Tony said after driving it yesterday that Im being stupid going with the RS2-parts.. as I have them in the coupe.. and its true.. I dont feel "scared" while driving it anymore.. I know what to expect so to speak. And the sedan is "homefried" / using 1.6bar boost.. it doesnt feel slow but it aint no rocket either.. going RS2 makes a difference of course but I have already tried that..
What to do? going RS2 keeps it totally drivable at each turn of event.. going bigger would make it.. ? Tony suggested a 3076r (right?) which he is using in his evo (the thing looks the part alright).. and that is obviously drivable.. hmm..
Anyways.. Im gonna be able to take better pics of the car from now on (if I remember to bring the camera) as we bought a canon eos 450d (or canon rebel xsi) in the U.S. on our vacation.. the cell pics are really getting to annoy me <: sry about those <;
Suggestions on turbo/ic and so on are appreciated.. vems is also in consideration.. but it would be nice to keep the audi engine management to be able to switch parts without having to redo the entire map each time (as I have gathered you surely must with vems? -not using the maf..?)
Now you can see how dirty it is <: and that it NEEDS a repaint after everything else is done (next year?) ((and I'm not talking about the spoilers <<: ))
Trankel! I've made a package for you.. And I'm gonna ship it during the week.. gotta do some wall-papering in our apartment as well.. ain't funny but it's needed.. the people that lived in the apartment previously must have been color-blind.. or just blind?
green walls with red/orange boards? come on.. or the easter-holiday-livingroom.. yes.. it's ALL yellow.. !¤%!¤%&
So.. after 1½ week of doing the apartment and being a bit lazy all-around the car now has working headlights and also attached front/rear rs2 bumpers + illumination of the reg. plate!
The RS2 side mirrors will be installed as soon as I get the proper connections/plug housings from VAG (like wednesday/thursday) and after that I have little or no excuses at all for not ordering REG/MOT <:
I wont be driving around much tough.. as soon as the reg/mot is done the plan is to take the car back to the garage and start picking it apart, build the engine and blast/paint the sub-frames.. perhaps buy/install some kw coilovers, brakes.. after making all that play nicely it is to be stripped again, this time for a re-spray/paint.. and after that a change of interior (if I find an interior for sale close to me)
Well.. thats the goal anyways.. we'll have to see where we end up.
