Got some pictures from the headlights at night-time............finally, will add them, along with some more pictures later on.
We seem to be going through a stage of everything breaking or refusing to work again, I've had a large oil leak for a little while, which was thought to be coming from the oil pressure switch, I think this is probably a job I can do myself, but I'm not sure which one to get, as there seems to be a few different types (green, blue etc). I'm having to put around 2 litres of oil in it every 3-4 days, and as discovered last night, the oil cooler seems to have joined in with the leaking party as well.
Yesterday, myself and my father took the rear, passenger side wheel off, to try and track down an irritating whirring noise that can be heard over about 25-30mph upwards, which increases in pitch as you get faster, strangely it disappears when you turn to the left, even slightly. We jacked the car up and used a decent sized crowbar, to lever against pretty much everything to try and find some play in some bushes or the wheel bearing, but to no avail, everything seems tickety-boo under there, not even frightening looking score marks on the brake disc, metal dust guard or the wheel and tyre. No idea whats going on in there.
On a brighter note, whilst having the back wheel off I noticed a rather pleasant surprise. The rear end has been fitted with Koni shocks, very nice, although I think the springs are heavy duty ones for towing, as alot of people have always commented that the back end looks high, and they do look very sturdy, also there is a towbar with an electrics connection, so it would look like its been used for towing a large trailer of some sort.
Still not done the front wing yet, after some thought, I decided to leave it until after the winter to replace it, I'm still undecided what to do about the bodywork in general though.
Got a very nice Porsche 996 front brake set-up to go on in the near future too, the replacement pads I fitted a few months back have never inspired me with much confidence at all, at best they're merely adequate for day-to-day use.
It never rains but it pours eh?

Got the lines off for you mate, i'll get them sent up to you sorry for the delay.
might be worthwhile if you can trying to pressure wash the engine (make sure you cover anything that could be harmed) and seeing where the oil comes from afterwards.
Headlights up first, we'll start with dipped headlights, on the road:
Before:
After:
Full beam, on the same piece of road:
Before:
After:
Dip beam, looking directly at them:
Before:
After:
Full beam, looking at them again:
Before:
After:
Unfortunately, the drivers side full beam has stopped working, only tries to flash when you thump the headlight. ******.
Looks like the back of the oil cooler has seen better days, and is now leaking oil.
Looking up from underneath the bottom pulley at the front of the engine, there's an oil leak in there somewhere, yuk.
Oil coated sump from this awful leak, looking back towards the exhaust pipe and cats.
Is this the oil pressure switch?
And finally some very nice gaps where it looks like the plastic trim has shrunk over time and now lets water down inside the doors, does anyone know if these are still available?
Whats wrong with yours now Alex? Nothing serious I hope.
Pete, dont worry about the delay with the lines, its going to have to come off the road I think anyway.

Beneath water manifold threaded into main oilgallery.
Where is that roughly?
S2 is off the road now, its in the way, so might be some incentive to crack on with it.
List of things to do so far:
Sort out huge oil leak.
Recore/repair/replace oil cooler.
Fit 996 brake set-up.
See why the full beam on the drivers side wont "kick" into life.
Replace headlight and foglight units with new items.
Fit new front wing.
Hopefully I can do that before the MoT in April.

I do have a spare passenger side non ellipsoid headlight minus the glass that was in good order that you can have if need be, I basically had it on the avant till last week when a stone shattered the glass I just changed the headlight for a spare one I had lying around (think I have two)
A bad earth can course the ballist pack not to fire up the HID bulb so that could be worth checking out.
Check all your sump bolts, if some of them are lose it could course oil to seep through the gasket...
I've always had an autocheck problem, but on the dipped headlights, as soon as I go to full beam, it says everything is fine, even though I have a bulb not working properly.
Is it worth me changing the sump gasket, while I can and while I'm underneath there?

I was going to get new units as I know my reflectors are garbage and both headlights have most of the mounts broken off, so I thought I may as well replace with them with fresh new ones.

Spent a few hours today making a start on this ever growing list of things to do.
I began with removing the oil cooler.
It would appear that all the "guff" off the road has collected in the plastic duct for the oil cooler, and the moisture in there has pretty much rotted everything away.
The thin metal shroud that connects the plastic ducting to the oil cooler has pretty much had it as well, the 4 bolts that secure the oil cooler in place have either snapped off or bent whatever metal is left beyond repair, so it looks like that will have to be replaced.
Will put some pictures up of that part tomorrow, it was pretty much dark by the time I finished.
I also hope to have found the cause of the main, large oil leak too, big thanks to s2_bo for his costless suggestion to try out, all of the bolts holding the sump on, bar 2 of them, could be done up another quarter to half a turn, using just a small 2" long 1/4" drive ratchet, so hopefully that will have helped cure it, I'm very tempted to replace the sump gasket while I still can. Seems like a good idea to me.
Poor thing
