      Thanks! Hopefully the new bits will work good

      Also, here is a pic I forgot to upload before

      Edit: the calipers was bolted on upside down by previous owner but I have corrected that now.

        Long time since I made some progress with the car. But now the engine is in the car and fired up for the first time in two years. Here are a couple of pictures.

        Setrab 16 row oilcooler and some hoses.

        Cooler in place thanks to Pelles (Erixons) welding

        This is how it looks like under the bonnet now. Gonna change back to the adjustable cam gear later on

        Next up is to bleed the brakes and clutch. And then I can take the car for a spin

            Not really sadly
            Still oil pressure issues as seen here: http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...t=oil+pressure
            The one thing left to do is take out the engine and check whats wrong. Everything points to bad main bearings... my bad since i did not measure those before I put the motor in the car. That can be a expensive mistake. Oh well, live and learn.

              A little update to the never ending project...

              The main bearings failed because they should have been in 0,25 mm oversize...
              They looked like this when I took them out. The motor had only been running in a hour at the most. Luckily nothing else took damage.
              Bearing cap 1 - 6

              I decided to not use my old crank since my friend Andreas had one spare. So I ordered new standard Glyco bearings but after some measuring I found out that his crank also is polished to 0,25mm under size...

              Bearings and stuff...

              Now I just have to find a good standard crank. New bearings in while I wait...

              The MAF is at the pressure side so I did mod for it a while back. I haven´t been able to test if it works yet tough
              The plan is to redo the plumbing and move the MAF to the correct side but I have to get the car going first.

              Well that´s all for now.

                Bought a ADU crank in good contrition for 100€

                Anyone know what the engravings stands for? It says:
                03/5
                27

                Crank in and measured

                Main bearing clearance around 0.051 on all 6 which is good.

                My camera died on me so I could´nt take pics of the big end but the clerance for those was around 0.076 for all 5

                        Out in the sun again for the first time in almost 3 years

                        To do list:
                        * Run in the motor. Have driven 100kms without problems, looks good so far
                        * Fix ABS fault. Yellow abs light is on
                        * Adjust the handbrake
                        * 4 wheel alignment
                        And hopefully it will pass the MOT soon

                            The car is now legal for Swedish roads. Passed the MOT test without problems

                            Will try to get some new pictures of the car soon as well
