over the last couple of months i have been busy in the ur...finally a year after starting this project..IT IS NOW RUNNING ...i have been waiting ages to hear this beast fire up,and it was well worth the wait, believe me..started up allmost straight away with no rattles from the tappets and no unwanted leaks..i had a small problem with the temp sender, but was sorted with the vagcom
the 3" system(with 3 1/2" tailpipe)sounds very deep and not as loud as i had expected, but opening the throttle makes for very illegal 5 pot growl
need to get rear brakes sorted, and then its drivable
there are a lot of other mods i need to do before its complete, but i have decided to keep it a work in progress as i am dying to drive it arround..
will be getting it remapped as soon as i have done the 1000 mile running in.. thanks to all that have helped out with info/work and s2 spike for the stainless welding

it used to be 10 valve........
i have installed the full loom from the s2 as this was needed to power the dash etc..
          gearbox is 6 speed...

i have done over 1000 miles now and i am just waiting for the remap by doug/minhea..the car drives amazing, very good handling and braking...lag is an issue at the moment, turbo kicking in at arround 4000 rpm,but what a boost even at just 1bar..
still got a lot of work to be done, but which project hasnt?

That thing is going to be stupid quick....................I remember seeing the donor car on your drive when i bought the headlights from you. The S2 dash looks a really good fit. Was it a hard job to get it to fit right? You'll have to bring it to the next meet.
Just some finishing touches to do now

doug from mrc has never rang me back about booking the car in for a re-map...soooo..
i have now got vems fitted(courtesy of pnanassy on here)and eboost2 controller...iam experimenting with different settings at the momoent and trying to get my head arround tuning the vems(with a little help from forum members of course)..

the cars power at the minute is really savage,i have took a couple of members out in it and all were impressed...

i would like to thank peter(pnanassy)for all his help and advise on the vems setup he has suppled me..i would recomend him to anyone, and has been a pleasure to deal with..

Did you have a lot of ECU tuning expertise yourself before VEMS?

Out of interest why did you go eboost2 instead of VEMS boost control?
