Project: Engine Recall

I've made a little more progress this past week, will be uploading a few pics with updates after the weekend. Here's what I've got:

-New clips to attach RS2 bumper grills
-New Clutch slave
-Outer CV boot kit
-3B flywheel & bellhousing bolts
-Downpipe gaskets

This week I've taken off the intercooler + crossmember, attached the mark-H mod, removed the DMF, and fitted a new rear crank seal. Cleaned up the Clutchnet pressure plate and SMF, the friction plate isn't as bad as I previously thought so may get fitted. I have a spare balanced clutch available if it doesn't look like it's going to work. Just need a few helping hands and a sunny day. Saturday looks good... :mischeif:

The clutchnet kit was cleaned up, we decided to re-use it despite evidence of it being abused!

Once the kit was fitted, the engine very reluctantly mounted up to the gearbox. This took a couple of attemps to angle it in, and the subframe was loosened to help.

Bo lived under the car for most of the evening

Actually, you can just see the 'hand on bump' so pretty sure that was Laura. Weren't you the one taking the picture? There was a second chair though so the principle is the same

OK, a bit more of a write-up:

After a morning of preparing the engine, the stage was set (thanks Mark, Bo and Stu - 95% of the tools we used were theirs) and the clutch cleaned by Stu "The Machinist", fitted and the engine hoisted ready. The Avant was pushed out of the garage to see it's first glimpses of Sunlight in a long time. Meanwhile, Laura had the most important activity of the day:
