A Quick update on progress:

The engine bay had quite a lot of rust in it so ive been tidying it up ready for paint.

Removed gearbox and diff for powder coating and fluid change.



I have fitted black leather with carbon and also a black head lining with trim (cheers sal)


Refurbished driveshafts.

The engine is now complete and ready to fit.



I have also undersealed the car not a very nice job!

Im waiting on a big order from audi then it can all be put back together, unfortunatly i dont have any suspension as some bloke up north still has it................................................ ............................

Looking good, did you strip back the underside before undersealing it? and did you need alot of underseal to do the whole car?

I used 4 cans of the spray on stuff by hamerite its pretty messy but worth it in the end, the bonus is you uncover any rust or pottential problems, which can be sorted befor yo re apply.

As i bought this car pretty much as a rolling chassis i still have alot of parts to buy, so i have a few questions for the gurus:

1, Can i use the standard ABY FPR with my setup (gt3071r) or will i need to uprade to something like the turbosmart 800.

2,Will the standard DV handle the extra power or should i upgrade?

3,I have the standard wastegate and a tial wastegate which would be the best option?

4,What injectors would suit the setup research is pointing me to the porsche orange injectors?

5,The Snub mount i have bought from euro carparts doesnt fit the wagner crossmember is this a known problem?

6,Will the bosch 044 be sufficient for my setup?

Sorry for all the questions i just want to be certain before i spend ££££'s i dont need to.

What power you going for with the turbo?

Fuel pressure will be set by what injectors you put in ...i.e. RS2 inj = 3.8 bar ..buying a adjustable FPR would be a good idea

I would go for a Forge 007 DV as you can play about with springs to suit power

Standard wastegate will handle the power but would put stronger spring in (1.9bar from 034 motorsport)

044 pump will handle alot ...wouldnt think you need to worry there

Dont know about snub mount

1.Just get a 7a FPR as they are cheap and it will do the job for that turbo.

2. For the cost of the dv i'd try the standard one and see how long it lasts, if it goes wrong upgrade, if not then leave it.

3. Standard wastegate will flow 500 bhp.

4. Yup porsche orange injectors will be good for a 3071r

5. does not fit as in does not fit in the hole or needs welding on?

6. Yes

Easiest thing for you to do is have a read thru ross's old coupe project when he was running the 3071r and follow that, as its tried and tested you know what works and whats not needed.

Your tialgate will control the boost alittle better than the OEM one its also ready and loaded with both the springs you need.

4,What injectors would suit the setup research is pointing me to the porsche orange injectors? I would use some 630cc's from seimens as they are cheap and they have been used by many a forum member. Also leaves head room. What is it with these porsche injectors? I take it they are just bosch?

@ james, The snub mount on the crossmember is to big for the standard s2 rubber if its okay to leave it i won't bother with it.

Im pretty sure the orange injectors are bosch items.

Depends on which engine mounts you are using really
